As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

• Reading about your fellow vacationers via their profile
• Chatting on the network
• Asking honest questions via our anonymous poll system
• REQUIRED: Reading the RULES set by the administrators

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

[SHOULD CHARACTERS ACTUALLY GO TO THE BAR AS INVITED they will in fact find various foods pilfered from the buffet as well as nice and cold beer set out, with Kanon manning the bar herself if people want to try their luck asking her for a mixed drink. She's all glitz and glam, wearing a swimsuit and so much jewelry it's more than obvious she had no intention of actually touching the water at any point.

[Here's Kanon! She is in fact hanging out behind the bar. There's robots you can ask for drinks, too, but if you want something more complicated, she's your gal... assuming you can deal with her long enough to get said drink.

She's sipping her own pina colada for now. Maybe the alcohol will have her in a better (or at least more easily persuaded) mood?]

[ Xiao is...here?? He's present, but not actively participating in anything. He's here to play bouncer, essentially, and he's keeping an eye out for any nasty fights that may break out. He doesn't trust people to keep it civil for the entire night.

Xiao can potentially be talked into playing party games, but if you'd rather not do that, he'll be chilling in a corner on his brick (phone). He will figure this stupid thing out someday.

That being said won't turn away anyone who wants to chat, and he may even lock eyes with people at random intervals. Something about his expression isn't as closed off as he wants it to be. ]

[Haruka is, unfortunately, at the party! He is absolutely not drinking, because that? Seems like such a spectacularly bad idea? He does not want to be drunk around some of the people on this island.

Not that he’d be very successful in refusing offers to drink, unless they come from Lobelia. I’m sure he’d understand.

Still, he is… here to socialize and he probably (probably!) won’t yell at anyone. Maybe. At least while sober.]

[Temenos is present and can be found in quiet observation. Perhaps he even has a drink of his own in hand- procured on his own. He won't be accepting one from anyone else.

What he will accept is conversation, though! He has grown very accustomed to banter with his travel companions, especially when they visit a tavern. Despite being a cleric, this is still within his element.

He'll offer a wave to anyone stopping by.]

[Baizhu is also in attendance, and probably less reluctantly than some others. He has taken up residence in a chair that's half in the sun and half out, shielded partially by the umbrella stuck in the accompanying table. He keeps an even eye on the people milling about, but isn't making any moves just yet to leave his chair.

If you look closely he also looks ....off, despite wearing his usual outfit. It isn't until someone walks a little too close or watches for a while that they might see Changsheng dip her head down over the side of the umbrella above Baizhu to hiss something at him.]

[ zelkov is only here because merlin managed to annoy him until he caved. he's seated at a small out-of-the-way table, and rather than a drink from the bar, he has a thermos (a very convenient invention he found in the gift shop) full of hot tea he brewed himself.

he seems thoroughly out of place in this kind of setting and is quietly keeping himself busy with a stack of paper napkins, each of which is being meticulously folded into a swan, flower, or some other shape. ]

[Against his better judgement and general attitude, Billy is here, though once he's gotten himself what looks to be an Arnold Palmer (deliberately not getting something mixed from Kanon) he'll largely be sticking to outskirt observation. Might as well get a sense for how this crowd acts in this situation.]

[ crea's around! he's mingling around the beach most of the time with a beach ball in hand, but sometimes he'll be around the bar as he looks up at the wide selection of drinks that he...genuinely knows very little about. ]

[Nona is around the party, with Noodle. She doesn't seem to even look at any of the food but she can be spotted eating a wooden fork.

She's very social but it's clear she has no idea what she's supposed to do in this kind of environment, so she mostly follows people around like a lost puppy.]

Is this a birthday party? [She'll ask suddenly.]
