As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

• Reading about your fellow vacationers via their profile
• Chatting on the network
• Asking honest questions via our anonymous poll system
• REQUIRED: Reading the RULES set by the administrators

We're also happy to announce our reward system is live! Complete tasks to receive special items to improve your stay!!! Contact your administrators for any questions or concerns. We hope you have a wonderful week!

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

That's fair. It's hard to miss something when you don't know how it feels to have it. I imagine a coworker of mine is similar.

Something like that, yeah.

Our creator was our Father. Haven't seen him in a really long time, though.

Ehh... so it's really just you and your siblings then?

[gluttoning]

Yeah.

We have plenty of other demons around. But it's not quite the same.

They're not family.

Are they enemies?

[gluttoning]

No, not enemies. We're just different. It's not as big a deal now as it used to be. But I wouldn't consider any other demon part of my family. Just my brothers.

What about you, Crea? How do you feel about your family?

I don't have a family anymore. They're all dead. [ a beat. ] But Sii-tan is my closest friend and also one of the people that I'm traveling with! He's probably the closest and dearest person to me, kind of like how you are with your brothers.

[gluttoning]

[Oh.

Damn, he keeps just tripping into these tonight.]

...Mn.

Sorry to hear that. But I'm glad you're still keeping someone close.

Don't worry about it. It happened a really long time ago.

[ crea waves it off like it's not that big of a deal. though the sting might still be there, it's far too faint for him to remember it. ]

Yeah, Sii-tan's a very important person to me. We've been together since we were both young, so I care about him a lot. He's a very kind person, although sometimes he looks really scary like Mr. Vergilius over there. Red eyes and mean words included!

[gluttoning]

If you say so. [Hope you're ok, string bean boy.

His gaze drifts on cue to wherever Verg is glaring holes at people from over a fruity cocktail.]

Mn. A scary appearance doesn't mean it's a scary person underneath.

Was Sii-tan scary when you first met him?

Nah, not really. I’m older than him anyways, so there’s nothing to be afraid about.

[ he chuckles, taking a sip of his drink. ]

Though he was always into playing roughly. He’d dig holes for me to fall into or he would beat me up with a shovel whenever he got mad, but he’s a nice kid underneath that grumpy exterior!

[gluttoning]

[A normal person might be concerned about this.

Beel just chuckles. Aw, they sound like brothers.]

Is he nicer to you now? Or does he still get grumpy with you like that?

[dakicover]

He still gets grumpy... though not so much with me as he does with others.

[ he smiles softly, almost as if reminiscing about the past. ]

Sii-tan's temper is something to be careful of, but he really does mean the best. He's just been through a lot, so he's prickly like a cactus.

[gluttoning]

Heh. Reminds me a little of Satan, when you say it like that. Sometimes they just need someone who can hear past their anger.

[He's tipping back his own glass for another drink. Defeats the purpose of the game a little, but eh. He's still plenty sober.]

It sounds like you care about him a lot. That's great.

[dakicover]

Yeah, exactly. You understand.

[ there's a fondness to his words that's tinged with just a bit of melancholy. he won't explain the source of it, since it's not part of the conversation and it would take too long to explain, but the most simple answer to beelz' question is: ]

I do. He's the most important person in my life; my best friend.
