As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

01. TASKS.

[ Yeah, okay, he's suspicious of "rewards" but curious enough to see what happens if he completes shit. Mostly because none of it looks that bad, beyond being nice. So, you can find Chuuya with his hard copy of the tasks, and he'll flag you down. ]

Oi. Pick one of the tasks. I want to see what these "rewards" are. [ He doesn't care which they do...so here's your chance to choose before he chooses for you. ]

02. BOUTIQUE.

[ He's...trying to find the least offensive shirt here. It's not going great, so Chuuya looks Annoyed about it. ]

03. BUFFET.

[ Chuuya seems to be eating at scheduled times. Breakfast, lunch, dinner...he did it all weekend, too. Usually grabs Japanese cuisine because he doesn't feel like branching out. He's started drinking a little more in the evenings too. He'll occasionally browse the profiles during meals on Monday, you can ask about his if you really want to. ]

[ WHY THAT ONE - still, he asked for the task assist and he does want to test it out, so he eyes her, racking his brain. They've only had one conversation, but that's true of most people here. ]

You've got a good sense of style and you seem pretty strong mentally. [ After all...if you can complain and joke around when kidnapped, you're no wilting flower. ]

[Waltaquin's most certainly not dressed for this kind of weather, thick skirts and long-sleeved jacket at all. She seems to be here looking for her own change of clothes - or at least something that will save her from heat stroke.]

Very well. I've been wondering about the distinction between "common" and "rare" rewards anyway.

1. Boutique

[Perhaps unsurprisingly, Kanon can be found picking out a ton of stylish (and generally not-so-modest) clothes, already having acquired what seems like a ring for every finger, bangles, even a necklace or two. She hums as she makes her way through the racks and - honestly it's a surprisingly competent, possibly even recognizable melody.]

2. - Beach (and tasks)

[She can later be found in a bikini lounging on the beach in the shade of a canopy. If she catches sight of your character, she'll call them over.]

Hey, hey, you wanted a prize too, right? Kanon will make it suuuuper easy for you!

Just say something nice about Kanon ♥

[If she seems to be a little too casually sprawled on her chair in a way that shows off her every inch, it's probably just your imagination.]

3. Bar

[She'll return here once again, humming a tune to herself as she mixes a drink, although she'll stop when she sees someone come in.]

[ well, if kanon is trying to show off to crea, it's unfortunately not really working. he's looking at her face, not the rest of her. ]

Huh, well I guess it's pretty generous of you to be helping everyone like that. [ he's pretty sure that it's because she's trying to fish for compliments, but what the hell. ]

["Oh, it's the chav bird who was making bets on non-powered people biting it first," Billy thinks the moment Kanon calls him over. Needless to say, he already isn't a fan.

And now she's fishing for compliments...well, for prizes more accurately, but still.]

[Billy makes a show of pretending to think extremely hard about this one, closing his eyes and rubbing his chin deeply in thought, before he just shrugs.]

Got nothin'. Sorry, lass.

[He's not sorry.]

[Nona... is trying not to stare. Although, she's not sure why she's trying not to because Kanon clearly wants to be looked at. And she's also really, really pretty, like Crown is, and in a way that Nona isn't (Nona likes how she looks more though).

Then she asks the question and Nona is immediately in compliment mode.]

You're really nice looking and pretty and you're amazing at lying!

[C...compliment mode...]

I'm not good at lying at all though, I keep getting in trouble for it. Everyone always says "Nona, you should lie more." But you probably don't have that problem.

[She isn't being sarcastic in the slightest. And true to her word, there's no ambiguity over how earnestly her words are meant.]

[ On arrival, Lacus was wearing a pretty regal kimino-like gown, but that has quickly proven to be way too hot for the island climate. She is now wearing a flowery pink Aloha shirt, as well as a a towel around her waist. With that attire she's off towards the boutique, where she spends a lot of time examining the various sundresses. Holding them up against her body in front of a mirror, twirling a little, and then still proving unable to decide... ]

... it's such a shame that I finally get the time for a shopping trip and none of my friends are here to help advise me.

[ That was more to herself than anything.

Later, she can be found at the bar - though she is just using it to brew a pot of herbal tea. If she notices someone approaching, she'll wave. ]

Would you like to join me for a cup? It's a surprise for the type of establishment, but their selection of blends is excellent!

[ On the bar counter, her small robot friend is bouncing. He's got his own commentary: ] Haro! Haro! Are you feeling fine?

[ And then in the evening, when it's already dusk, you can find Lacus wandering the beach. She's singing a melancholy song with a practiced clear voice. You best get used to this, because you'll find her singing in random places constantly from here on out. ]

Merlin's out and about around evening time himself. At the sound of a beautiful voice, he's lured right on over.

As soon as there is a moment of pause or she stops singing, he will speak up. ]

...Hmm, I had no idea we had such a talented singer in our group here.

[ zelkov is not intentionally lurking in the shadows as he listens to her, it just... is kind of his natural state of existence. whenever she finishes her song, he'll step out of the darkness, hopefully not too creepily. ]

That was quite a beautiful song.

[Billy looks at the pot of tea as if it's some curiosity. Taking drinks from some tiny lass on an island where Supes are pit against each other for murder might be a bad idea.

...but at the same time, it's herbal tea, and he's cursed with being British.]

What kind is it? I might fancy a cuppa...

[When the little pink ball starts bouncing and talking to him, it gets an equally suspicious squint.]

[Nona nods sadly, she's just started putting on random assortments of coats and now she's like a lump of cloth with a squishy Nona center in the middle, but it seems she empathizes with the struggle. She's also trying to find an outfit for Noodle the dog.]

My friend Crown is so pretty she's always really well dressed and she always said she'd take me shopping and give me a makeover so I could look like her, but she never got around to it.

[She frowns, pausing in her shenanigans to mourn the fact that maybe they'll never get to do that. But it's only a few moments before she turns up to look at Lacus brightly.]

If our friends are missing, I'll just be your friend instead.

[ Since we're trapped here for the foreseeable future, Kallamar may as well find some half-decent clothes...

He managed to mistake some oversized hoodies for robes, but it's better than rags. He would have made off with them already if he hadn't been distracted by the semiprecious-gem-on-a-rope displays. ]

Hm... [ He's currently examining an opalite necklace with great scrutiny. ] What manner of crystal is this?

NETWORK ISSUES
[ You would think everyone would have gotten the hang of the stupid phone thing by now, but Kallamar is one of those few who had never seen one of these things before. So when the announcement suddenly flashes on the screen it nearly gives him a heart attack. ]

What is it now?! [ Thankfully those "robes" have pockets to pull the stupid phones out of, which is exactly what he's doing to check the thing and read it over... ]

Hm... So this must be some magic messaging system... [ He tries to dismiss the message, but only succeeds in locking and unlocking the thing a few times. It's a bit irritating! ]

Rgh. How do you get rid of this message?

BEACH
[ Silver lining! The beach is near the ocean, which is perfect for an aquatic fella like him! Maybe he has a better chance at escape?

That's what others might think, but if you're lucky you might spot a bunch of splashing in the deeper part of the water. You may even hear some angry shouting if it's not drowned out... By the chorus of singing fishes?

Moments later, an overwhelmed Kallamar is shoved out into the shallow waters like a sack of potatoes. ]

Urgh.......

[ He's still alive, but exhausted from fighting whatever he found in the water. Maybe you might wanna help the beached squid. ]

[ Is it the singing fishes or the beached squid that calls him over? Yes. ]

Are you alright? [ Wading into the water carefully. ]

[ It's such a good thing Psyche's had a few moments to get used to things here being... not what she's used to. And seeing everyone gathered already. So she doesn't shriek at the sight of a squid roughly her own size, although she does blink a few times. ]

Could I see? I might recognize it.

[ She hadn't really considered before that she has expertise in gems, but. Actually, she's seen a lot. ]

With all of the beautiful ladies around, it isn't strange to see one wandering about. What is unusual is that no vacationer would have seen her at all before.

01. beach surfing

First off, she can be found walking around the beach, holding a plate of french fries with one hand, and a very confused seagull with her other arm. It's probably too early in the morning for this.

"I don't mind giving you some, but you really shouldn't swoop like that. That could've hurt."

02. garden sculpting

With a surprising amount of empty bottles on hand and some sort of adhesive, the strange girl seems to be creating a new sculpture to add to the garden. As time goes on, the sculpture seems to become more and more...goat-like? If goats were buff and spiky, that is.

03. possible game time

Later on, she can be found hanging around the book cafe, staring at the game with the eyes of someone who doesn't really know what she's looking at. If she notices anyone around, she'll wave and start up a conversation.

a. "These are part of the tasks they sent out, right?"
b. "What sort of games do you like playing?"

"Y'know you're just askin' to get your eyes pecked out. Little bugger's gonna tell the other rats with wings you're the biggest bloody sucker on the beach and soon they'll all be swarming you for chips."

Billy eyes the seagull with distrust, then Moravia with an equal amount of distrust.

"Nasty way to go, really."
