As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

• Reading about your fellow vacationers via their profile
• Chatting on the network
• Asking honest questions via our anonymous poll system
• REQUIRED: Reading the RULES set by the administrators

We're also happy to announce our reward system is live! Complete tasks to receive special items to improve your stay!!! Contact your administrators for any questions or concerns. We hope you have a wonderful week!

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

((OOC: Welcome to Week 1! This is a peace week, so they'll be no case this weekend. However, we have something for you to chew on Saturday, time to be announced later in discord.

It looks lovely. Does this mean you'll go with me, um... [ she really hasn't figured out modes of address for everyone yet... ] ...Miss Lacus?

Just Lacus is fine!

[ Though Lacus has a manner of speech that often makes her sound like an old timey princess straight from the castle, she doesn't particularly being formal. ]

And I'd love to - I don't swim too often, but I've lived by the beach before, so I know the surf pretty well.

Um... this is probably a silly question. But at the meeting His Eminence held, you said you were... from space? Are there beaches there?

Oh.

[ Yeah, that would be a question people unfamiliar with space colonies would come up with. Having been born well into the era of space colonization, there is a lot that is self-explanatory to Lacus that other people here just... never even thought about. It's an interesting experience. ]

There's no ocean, but there are artificial lakes - they can have beaches. You have to imagine that it's kind of like... living in a huuuge box that is decorated to look like nature?

I lived by a lake, in space. But I also moved down to Earth for a little, and that was by the actual ocean!

Ah! I can picture that, a little. So that's how you can live there...

[ That explanation says that this is something any child would probably know, where Lacus is from. Well... that's fine. It's hardly the first time Psyche's needed to ask for common knowledge, and it won't be the last. ]

You'd already traveled so much before this. It sounds exciting.

Maybe a little too exciting, sometimes.

I'd often rather be in my garden... but it's good to see a lot and learn a lot, too.
