As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

• Reading about your fellow vacationers via their profile
• Chatting on the network
• Asking honest questions via our anonymous poll system
• REQUIRED: Reading the RULES set by the administrators

We're also happy to announce our reward system is live! Complete tasks to receive special items to improve your stay!!! Contact your administrators for any questions or concerns. We hope you have a wonderful week!

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

((OOC: Welcome to Week 1! This is a peace week, so they'll be no case this weekend. However, we have something for you to chew on Saturday, time to be announced later in discord.

[Here's Waltaquin with her lager, having tried to assemble the clothing that came with her cabin into something resembling ladylike style.]

It's a little dull so far, but I have hope that we can perk things up by the end. [A boring party is an abomination, after all.]

You must be relieved to not be running this one.

[Bravo, Waltaquin. That's quite a look! She certainly put more effort into dressing up than Temenos, who is wearing his cleric garb as usual. How is he not dying in this heat?]

Haha, a bit. [He takes a sip of his drink, glancing at the festivities.] I can only handle an unruly flock for so long before I need a break.

[She was dying a bit in the heat, and therefore she had to improvise. It's a struggle look, and yet a look nonetheless.]

Hahaha! Surely we can't be the worst you've ever had, Father? I know for a fact young nuns can be rather headstrong.

But I really would rank you lot up there! An extraordinary set of circumstances involving a group from entirely different worlds and backgrounds...and that's not even getting into the clash of personalities. You certainly don't find yourself a flock like that in a lifetime, and yet here we are.

[Not me sitting here wondering if I should start giving DioField style ~four-letter nicknames to everyone...pain.

Quin chuckles a little at that humble(?) deferment. She's certainly never met a group of people from such disparate and unfortunate backgrounds before...]

The clash of personalities is the least unique thing about us. Can we set aside our differences to solve our predicament? I wonder... Perhaps we'll rely on you to bring the flock together.

The least unique, but easily the most troublesome.

We shall see about my ability to lead this flock for an extended amount of time. Admittedly, my focus has been in an entirely different set of duties as of late, so I may be somewhat rusty.

Didn't you say something about solving murders, at our last meeting? It isn't unheard of for the church and law to be arms of the same body, so I'm not surprised by that knowledge.

[There's nothing to say to the rest of it but to agree... together, they're no better than mercenaries, with no common goal and no ability to see eye to eye on matters of commitment and importance.]

Don't you think you're uniquely positioned should our worst expectations come to pass?
