As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

[Early Tuesday morning, a message is posted to the network:]

MEETING
Now that we have had a few days to settle in, I would like for everyone to gather at the beach at [XX:XX] so that we may discuss what we have learned so far. Consider this an opportunity to also share speculation about our dear captors and get to know your fellow "guests."

And I do mean everyone, by the way.

[In addition to the network post, Temenos will also slide a hand-written note under each cabana that isn't Pelican. Pelican residents will get a verbal invitation from Temenos himself.

True to his threat(?), he'll badger everyone to make sure they attend. This is important!!

At the appointed time, Temenos can be found under one of the large canopies on the beach. He's set up a number of beach chairs into a nice circle to promote discussion. For the food-motivated in the group, there is a small offering of finger foods on a table to the side. It's nothing fancy- Temenos simply grabbed some stuff off the buffet line for the sake of placating everyone.

Once everyone has gathered and settled, Temenos makes his way to the center of the meeting spot.]

Before anyone gets the idea to swim off the island, I already went to see what was in the waters. Apparently the waters are populated by a gigantic school of fish with irritating singing voices, and they will push you to shore if you go too far from it.

Has anyone made the effort to speak to our administrators some more? They're quite personable in a one-on-one setting, I've found.

Rapt0r might appreciate someone to talk about games with, if that is anyone's forte here. I'm sadly not very well-versed in playing. Ho-Oh is also rather forthcoming when engaged politely. He seems to value manners quite highly.

We only have so much space to share about ourselves on our network profiles, so I would be interested in hearing more about you all. Obviously our dear captors brought the majority of us here to make use of our energy, but perhaps there are other common threads linking us.

I understand that some of you are not so forthcoming with personal details, but a simple idea of what you were doing before you wound up here could prove to be helpful.

Ah, I may as well share since so many are reluctant. Right before waking up on the beach, I was setting off to pick up a gift for the celebration of my nephew's birth.

Hmm, well, it’s a bit embarrassing to admit, I was knocked out cold at a research center before waking up in this place.

I spent an indeterminate amount of time in the no-place. Unspace. Could’ve been days. Could’ve been megacycles. Dreadfully boring place. If nothing else, I came out with a better understanding of myself.

In my case, I had just finished solving a series of murders tied to a rather troublesome cult. Their motivations, however, are still unclear to me. I intended to set out and assist my traveling party with their own goals while gathering information on said cult, but found myself here instead.

As others have mentioned, I too experienced a similar tingling sensation, as well as the scent of sea breeze, despite being nowhere near the ocean at the time.

I am Waltaquin, of House Redditch. After resigning my position with the Blue Foxes, I was en route across Central Field in search of new occupation.

Central Field is not completely landlocked, but I was nowhere near the sea.

I was... at home, after a long day at work. I can't say I did anything special. I was playing with the Haros, as I often do.

Before arriving here, I was having a lovely chat with the captain of a mighty vessel that spans the skies. You can imagine my surprendre when I woke up here on the sandy shore!

[Where's Beel? Doing his best not to clear out the food table immediately, though he's at least stopped popping bite site sausages into his mouth long enough to engage in conversation.

His stony expression stiffens for a second, staying silent with a lot of the others, but as people start opening up, he follows suit.]

I was getting ready to head home and talk to my brother. There'd been some trouble. One of our transfer students was coming with me.

I didn't make it out of the building before I woke up here, though.
