As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

• Reading about your fellow vacationers via their profile
• Chatting on the network
• Asking honest questions via our anonymous poll system
• REQUIRED: Reading the RULES set by the administrators

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

Not many humans have magical powers like that. I've really only met one that makes it look that easy.

[He plucks one of the flowers from Merlin's hands, examining it.]

Huh. No wonder you smell like flowers.

[ Watching as Beel just casually takes the flower from his hands, it's fine. ]

What was the name of this human?

[ Well, he can't be surprised that someone says that. Flowers are his thing, after all. ]

I should hope so! It means that, of course, I'll always smell nice~

[gluttoning]

[One of the petals is plucked and put into his mouth. How do your flowers taste, mister mage.]

What's wrong with asking for 'pacts all the time', anyway?

[ The irony is not lost on him, however. Who'd thought there was a Solomon out there with a personality that sounds similar to his?

Though, he feels like he's being seen a little too much somehow... ]

But what a pity, cooking isn't that hard if someone puts their effort into it! Oh, speaking of food, you must be enjoying what's been brought along, hm?

Mostly annoying. Asking for a pact is a big deal. Besides, he already has plenty.

You'd think so. But I think his cooking is just cursed. It's always bad, no matter what other people try. I wouldn't be surprised if he's killed people on accident. Or on purpose.

[He shudders visibly. Ugh. No need to think about that any further.]

Huh? Oh. Yeah, the buffet's great. They always keep the cheeseburgers nice and hot.

Going to go back to kicking back and relaxing. Though he notes to ask a little more about this pacts business later. ]

Because you're always are all about the food, of course. I was curious about what you'd thought of it, that's all~

I wouldn't eat it if it was awful. Usually. Sometimes bad food is worse than no food at all.

Sort of. Sometimes.

It's not something I have to worry about here, though. And it's open even in the middle of the night. So I never have to worry about being too hungry for too long.

That's right! We're rather fortunate enough to have such good food hanging around as a constant, so we don't have to have worse options to choose from.

[ And luckily, they don't have to worry about starving. ]

Having open access to food at all times...that's something you didn't have the luxury of even back home?

[gluttoning]

[He sighs, a little flicker of guilt across his expression before he shoves his hands into his pockets.]

It depends on how much we can keep the kitchen stocked. Some days are better than others.

My eldest brother will lecture me for raiding the fridge at night. The bills stack up quick, and my family is left without anything when I do that. But I can't always help myself. Ordering out in the middle of the night costs even more than that, too.

If we had something like this, I think it would help all of us. But that's not realistic.

Your appetite sounds like it really is no joke.

You're right that something like this isn't necessarily realistic. Even something like 'magically reoccurring and never-ending sources of food' isn't something I've really run into much. Or at all. Though, I don't really think it's an impossibility.

[ At least, those are his thoughts. ]

One of my older brothers puts incubbi and succubi to shame for how much he obsesses over stuff like that. I feel better just tuning it out.

[ Insert commentary about it helping Merlin get some of his own meals, though. Even if the comment about incubi and succubi almost made him laugh again. Is it a coincidence, he wonders? Hmm...curiouser and curiouser. ]

Though, I don't mind. It kind of adds to the general laid-back nature of this party, if we're trading these sort of lines again.

[ In which people might be annoyed about, but Merlin only finds himself genuinely amused in good humor. ]

I've never really been a party person, so I wouldn't have a good idea. Other than making sure the food is okay.
