As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

• Chatting on the network
• Asking honest questions via our anonymous poll system
• REQUIRED: Reading the RULES set by the administrators

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

[ crea's around! he's mingling around the beach most of the time with a beach ball in hand, but sometimes he'll be around the bar as he looks up at the wide selection of drinks that he...genuinely knows very little about. ]

[ He's at the bar getting a water this time, but he spots Crea looking at the selection for a little bit longer than Wei Wuxian would expect. ]

Need some help picking out a drink?

[ he turns towards wei wuxian, smiling at him. ]

Actually, I would. Back at home our group would only buy things like cheap beer, so I don't know much in the way of alcohol. Things have progressed so much that I can hardly imagine all the options.

[diabolizes]

They have, haven't they? I'd never had a mixed drink until I came here, but I've had a chance to try a few.

[ He looks over their options. ]

What kind of flavors do you like?

[ While he hasn't tried everything, he should be able to pick through the ones he knows now to find something suitable. ]

[ for a second, crea has to ponder the question. what kind of flavors does he like? but then a recent memory pops up, and he lights up like a sunny day. ]

Actually, I tried something really fascinating a couple days ago! It was a drink in the gift shop that was both sweet and tangy! The flavor was so intense, it almost made my heart stop!

[ local guy from 1000 years ago tried a fuckin dollar store sports drink. ]

Something like that!

If you ever have the chance, I'd like for you to show me one of those drinks.

[ He has to know what that heart-stopping flavor is...

But for now, he'll point out one particular drink. ]

Try the Cosmopolitan.

Oh, sure...

[ why the hell not, right? they're at a fancy resort and he's never tried a drink from the present (or his future? that doesn't matter as much anymore) fancier than cheap beer or rum. ]

What does it taste like to you?

It tastes sweet with the cranberry juice, but there's a bit of a punch from the lime. The flavor of alcohol is a bit washed out with the intensity of the juices, but it's still good.

Well, I'd say it's worth trying out.

[ he'll take the drink, pouring some in a cup and taking a sip of it... ]

No way... it's tastes really good! It's... it's like fruity but you can still sense the alcohol... this is awesome!!!

[diabolizes]

Isn't it? I have a great sense for alcohol.

[ While he barely drinks now, he's always had a good grasp on what flavors are the best... well, in his opinion, at least. ]

It's really too bad my favorite isn't here.

[ Apparently his life is "never have I ever" now, so Ibuki will greet him at the bar when he notices him looking at the drinks. ]

Any drink suggestions? I can't say I've ever seen these many choices before.

I haven't either!

[ he laughs, his expression just almost incredulous. ]

There's so many options to choose from, and yet all I know are very simple ones. Beer, whiskey, vodka... I don't think I could think of anything more elaborate than that.

Me neither, and I can't say I plan to remember anything complicated. I'm not a hard drinker.

[ whatever his drink is right now, it's bog standard. ]

Suffering from choice paralysis?

Me neither. It’s alright in moderation, but I’m not the type to get wasted.

[ he’s more like the designated driver type of friend…

still… he turns back to the selection of drinks… then back to the other. he follows that with a light shrug. ]

Yeah. I‘ve no idea what to choose. What are you having?

Bourbon whiskey. Mostly because I wasn't ready to fall down the rabbit hole of thinking about cocktails.

[ So responsible. ]

I usually don't drink much at all, because one of my friends will get mad and tell me to clean if I have the time to drink.

Eh? How are those two correlated...?

He, well, my friend Hyuuga, yells at me to clean my room a lot. Even my other friend gets in on it. I guess it does get messy though...

[ Cleaning his room is hard, okay. ]

[Nona, exceptionally easy to please, sees Crea and runs up to him because she knows him. Noodle is as ever just a bit behind her.]

Crea! You're lost too!

Hey Nona, hey Noodle!

[ crea turns around to face her, happy to see them both. ]

Honestly, lost is right. I see all these drinks and I have no idea what to make with any of ‘em. How are you two?

[Nona makes a face at all the drinks.] Noodle can't drink any of these, and I don't want to.

I'm happy that everyone's so close together though. I wanted a birthday party but I don't think I've been to a party.

Huh… I’m not sure if it’s actually because we’re close or if it’s Kanon being bored…

[ probably the latter. it’s not like there’s anyone else on the island, and he figures that kanon wouldn’t have as much fun playing games.

of course dogs can’t drink alcohol. well, there has to be some water around to mix the drinks… and certainly enough there is. in his own indecision about which harder liquor to try, crea absentmindedly grabs a bottle of orange juice and wordlessly offers nona (and/or noodle) a bottle of water? ]

Still, we have all settled in pretty nicely, that’s true. Even I’m getting used to Beelzebub’s snoring.

[ he smiles. ]

I’ve never been to a party this big, but, in my experience, it’s usually people getting together and bonding through talking and drinking. [ he chuckles, the smile turninng a bit wry as he remembers something. ] With that, you can form a strong camaraderie with even the most awful people you’ve ever met.
