ENDGAME
FINAL TRIAL
"ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR STAY!!! :-)"
That's a message from Chirpy, as that group leaves the records room. Though really, there's not much time left; a fact impressed upon you regardless of whether you had a overly helpful bumbling robot or not.
Take some time to discuss what you've found and equip your new found loot in the open research lab. It's not a bad place for an impromptu meeting considering it's size.
Though sooner, rather than later, you'll need to head deeper still, to meet your two administrators, who surely know you're coming by now. (( OOC: Welcome to Endgame! This is for all the bananas, so good luck! We'll give you 1 hour OOC to discuss your invest findings, and then it's onto the final confrontation. ))

EVIDENCE
We're going to need to be brief, but I think it'd be good to go over what all of us found. Let us take turns sharing our information - if that is alright?
holding cells
Given what evidence we have of what they do with living subjects [Zalkov's son] let's expect to face it again.
[She sounds a little put out - this could have been prevented, had she not hesitated when it jumped at her the last time!]

Robot Hangar Part 1
The robots run on the 'Ailouros System', which is a service-oriented artificial intelligence. It's subordinate to the Kratos system.
It's mainly responsible for maintenance and records keeping and the likes... but the robots have recently been updated. Turning their head into these fishbowls went along with making them more linked up to the surveillance and defense systems.
Their integrity may be a little less stable for it, but they're more dangerous to us in that form.
... as many of us already experienced.

Records Archive
[That was not lightly.]
Fortunately, there was a caretaker robot to assist us. While we had to sift through some unnecessary information, we did find some hidden gems.
For example, the previous administrators of this island chose birds for their theme due to their nature aligning with their scientific vision. [He has the papers with him so he can just quote it directly:] "The board decided on naming the Horned Sungem (Heliactin bilophus) as the islands mascot, as it employs "hawking", the act of taking insects directly from their nests for sustenance. Similarly, one of the main goals of the project is to take those from other worlds to power our research."
I also discovered a bit of the nature behind those who visited this island prior to our arrival: "SP offers the best class in hospitality, entertainment, and relaxation. While many visitors pay to visit the island, others are the result of charity selections, in order to ensure a diverse spread for research."
it sounds as though this wasn't always a forced attendance for visitors.

I asked about IDs per Magolor's request, and was told all identification is biometric for security purposes... no other files on that. Baizhu requested I ask about Athos, and while Chirpy hadn't heard that name, I asked about the cages and was told that this test cycle housed two subjects and received the files for them.
[ He posted it to the network, but he'll show the photos for them now too. ]

Robot hangar part 2
Found a couple of notes jammed into two of those robots in the robot hangar. One of them mentions the original natives of the islands and implies that they "blew themselves up" with their own technology-- in other words, our administrators are merely continuing with work that had already been started, from the sound of things.
And here's the really interesting part: "Space-time isn’t stable. From the way they talk, it might be a feature of the dimension. Ridiculous. How does this place exist?" That might be why they were all able to bring us here in the first place, since one of the other notes mentions programming and targeting multiversal coordinates.
Records Archieve The Third
Sungem's Peak isn't the actual name of the island. It's called Singularity Project or SP for short. [ Pausing a moment as he closes his eyes ] Singularity is defined as a point at which a function takes an infinite value, especially in space-time when matter is infinitely dense, as at the center of a black hole. Through the wonder of science they hope to...
[ Holding up a finger ] One! Navigate space-time, both in reaching into other multi-universes, establishing transport between them.
[ Holding TWO WHOLE FINGERS ] Two! Refine, condense, and hone power, both as an energy resource, and to further advance the human species.
Chirpy also knows all the gossip and details of our stay here.

...He also saw some disturbing footage involving Shigaraki and Overhaul. Overhaul killed someone very quickly; she moved to attack him, and immediately got blown into pieces.
[ Yikes. ]
We need to be careful, when we confront them.

Also found some surveillance gear that was built into the fuckin’ birds. Secrets we wanted to keep from the big birds ain’t so mum now, I don’t think.
Also found an x-ray scanner and did some amateur surgery with Doc Baizhu here.

Any detailed information was admin access only, but here's what I can tell you.
[ Ahem. Time to mimic Chirpy. ]
LELANTOS IS A TRANSPORTATION AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM. KRATOS IS THE CORE SYSTEM ON THE ISLAND.
[ And back to his normal tone. ]
Hope that helps a little? Wang Lu talked about what he found with the solution to the math problem given, so I think that's everything relevant I have.

INTAKE LAB SIDE MAGOLOR
Anyway, for the record in case anyone here didn't catch our chatter over the network earlier: they can apparently zap you I just never saw it because I think they had trouble trying to pull out that arm when they were busy being squished together, and one of their arms like, siphons? Spells. They've also got big ol' force field shields, though they're just one way, not omnidirectional; I managed to take them by surprise from behind and below. Did manage to retrieve two of the electrical weapons they had on 'em! Handed them off to Joshua and Wei Wuxian.
But more importantly, one of them had some papers stuffed into it.
[ he's got them on him, but there's a lot of charts and math and crossed out bits, so in the interest of time he'll summarize: ]
They mostly tell us things we already know: the island system is destabilizing, and the KRATOS system says the place is in its final death spiral. It looks like they're mostly Overhaul's notes— there's a lot of math and equations where it looks like he was trying to balance the energy needed to keep this place at equilibrium for longer, but gave up because he didn't have enough time. He decided to try to focus on finishing the serum and finding his way out instead, it looks like.
His last log here says it looks like there's just enough energy for both of his projects, but 'with allowance for contingencies and extra requirements.' We're cutting it pretty close.
LOOT
Looks like Merlin and the others sent us care packages.

Think we should keep them with the people they were intended for, given... [ vague gesture. you know, the sentiment of the dead and all, ] or do you think it's okay to divvy them around a little bit?

well nothing. There's no one inside, and you can look up and down, left and right, but it's completely empty. The service elevator (which means all of you can fit without it being an OSHA hazard) will wait patiently until everyone is on board. And once everyone is, it's time to go below.
The trip is uneventful, and sadly there's no elevator music. The doors ding open. ]
2/?????
Some things have changed.
It's not an entirely new floor, exactly -- the holding area and archives you spent so much time gallivanting in are still there, still square and still Chirpy-tastic... but they're now dwarfed by what looks like an entire area extension that somehow happened in the time you were away.
It really just looks like a big cargo bay, complete with closed garage doors, some equipment laying out there (looks like it spilled over from the holding area and some of it looks similar to stuff from the robot hangar), and... a series of couches. A houseplant. Some coffee tables with what look like unnecessarily colorful mechanical parts (that look suspiciously bird-like). Why.
Perched on one of those couches is Overhaul, it looks like he's been turning a tiny sungem over in his hands. He cocks his head, running his gaze over the assembled crowd.]
Hmm. Can't say I'm a fan of uninvited visitors. Uninvited visitors who don't knock, well...
[With a lazy wave, the bird is released and it hovers in classic hummingbird fashion -- it's hard to tell from here whether it's actually a bird or entirely mechanical. He doesn't stand just yet.]
How about we have a talk first? Or are you more interested in jumping in with guns blazing?
3/3!

So that's what you've all decided. I hear you loud and clear.
We'll just do this the hard way.
[He doesn't stand just yet.
Instead, perhaps due to some operation on the U-PINION or something else, one of the doors at the back of the cargo bay starts to crack open. Slow, rumbling -- or that might be the low growl that comes from it, the thunderous padding of large paws, a strange... metallic sound? Almost a screech as whatever it is simply tries to go right through the door while it's opening.
Glancing back at Overhaul will show that the entire couch area is now encased in a mesh of steel, rising from the floor of the facility and bowing over everything to cover it in shadow.
A familiar liger stalks out from the back of the facility, jumping atop the dome of steel mesh like some kind of weird recreation of classic cartoons. It looks like Athos at a glance, but there are some very particular modifications: what looks like metallic armor encasing the back, flanks, legs and head, in familiar shades of black and purple.
Athos(?) crouches, ferocious eyes landing on the assembled crowd; and pounces, diving directly down like the worst rocket ever.]

PSA: Perishing Service Announcement (1/?????)
There's the drip, drip left over from Lacus' Torrential Roar, the hushed or not-so-hushed voices of those rushing about regrouping and healing, the oppressive weight of all the metal and blood and death hanging over the space. The leaden knowledge that the world is quite possibly ending right over their heads, and there's no way of seeing how bad it is from below.
Or maybe there is? Because soon enough, the ground starts shaking -- but they are in fact inside the ground, so what's shaking, exactly? The fabric of reality? Their perception of whether this is all a simulation?
No, it's the metallic chamber and all the geology surrounding it, vibrations that are a prelude to something much, much bigger.
But nothing bursts through the walls, the ceiling, or even the floor.]
2/2
And the next, Overhaul is there again. But it's a crapshoot as to whether they'll recognize him immediately, because he's coming from the direction of the elevator (though the elevator itself is closed), and his feet aren't exactly touching the ground.
Because his new, grotesque form is bigger, has too many arms (way too many arms), and is equipped with none other than fly wings and horns. There's even more of that familiar black and purple armor limning all the extra limbs and seemingly going down his back and shoulders, his front -- a lighter layer of armor than Athos', but along with it is what looks like one of Skywarp's cannons.
When he talks, it echoes through the bird mask in a curiously electronic manner, as though there might be a little robot in the way he talks, too.]
I really wasn't interested in using this. I really hate having to get all these hands dirty, you know. But since you won't negotiate, and you won't listen, then I'll see about an even better method of negotiation.
How interested are you in destroying these?
[It may seem like the time to talk, but the time for that is well past, as they should all know.
The opening salvo is swift.
He opens with several flicks of his index finger, in quick succession: Lacus' ring and Wang Lu's sword explode into a shower of sparks and metal shards, raining injury and shrapnel onto their owners.]

CLEARED
With Overhaul down, there's a lot of things that need to get done quickly:
- Shigaraki needs to take Overhaul's quirk from his body, which he does.
- Everyone needs to mosey on down to the admin level, SP*. You might spot the gatcha machine along the way, as well as LELANTOS AND KRATOS.
- Whatever is left of Overhaul needs to be thrown into a machine that is basically like a centrifuge for bodies, surely this is fine. The bodies are separated, it is probably gruesome to look at but it's fine!!!
- Some computer tinkering needs to be done, and did we mention the alarms are blaring all to hell because the island is going to implode very shortly.
- Shigaraki will take WWX and Psyche's powers using AFO, and use that and Overhaul's quirk to power all relevant machines.
- He'll also grab the serum for him and Billy because, promises.
- The dead will revive in a flash of light on the LELANTOS platform, there surely will be bickering but now is not the time as the ground is shaking at this point.
- Yakety sax everyone on the platform to teleport ...home? ]
