Throughout your time on the island, there's been a steady rhythm; the murders, the trials, the executions, the clean-up afterwards that leave just up remnants for you to remember what was lost. This Monday morning though, things are different. The debris and any biohazards are cleared, but no effort has been made to repair the games at the arcade, or to restock the chemicals and damaged equipment at the laboratory.

Odd.

If you cast your eyes to the sky, you'll also notice that the distortion is also lingering—there's certainly less of it at least, a haze still lingering over the go-karts, one whirlpool lingering out in the sea. It could be worse, surely.

Though there's no new locations for you to take your mind off of all these oddities either. In fact, looking at your device to access the resort map area and scrolling past Kakapo's Nest triggers an error.

There’s one more, slightly more eclectic change: the kittybots, instead of having cute kitty ears and faces, are now without exception round-headed. This would make them look like ordinary robots, but their heads actually now look like a bowl of fish swimming, which occasionally form up into expressions. A change of pace for everything, it seems.

[ Sometime after it is presumably brought up that the administrator's aren't responding to being contacted anymore, Lacus is going to speak up again. This is under the assumption that they conclude they aren't being listened to anymore either... ]

You may have overheard me talking to Merlin in the garden yesterday. I'm aware that both he and a good number of you believe that killing the administrators is the only way to truly end what is happening here. That may even be the truth.

However, I would be remiss not to point out that there may be a different way than fighting both of them at once. After all, we know how powerful they are, even on their own.

Tomura hates Overhaul more than he hates anyone in the world. In the past, Overhaul murdered someone who was precious to Tomura - I've seen it happen, when Merlin made our memories melt together. Tomura has not forgiven him - he won't rest until Overhaul is completely and utterly destroyed.

The only reason he is giving his cooperation to Overhaul here is Overhaul's technical genius. He needs him to complete a weapon that will allow Tomura to reach his goal of destroying the society of his world. A goal he shared with the person who died.

That weapon was almost complete last week. They might be completing it right now. After it is done? Tomura is not going to take Overhaul's side.

[ This is...interesting. Very interesting. Still, there's something more pressing that he needs to ask. ]

What does he intend on doing with us, then?

[ He thinks he might know, but Lacus would know better. ]

I don't know what their final plans for us are - either of their plans, really.

But I know that as long as Tomura gets to go home with his prize, he has no need for us one way or another. And there is someone among us he cherishes.

And that's still a strange way to put it. I'd call it an understanding.

I am wondering about that. It's odd we have been left alive after they finish, but if the island or archipelago is going to be destroyed with their exit then it might just mean they don't really care what our fates will be.

I know it's probably unreasonable to worry about this, considering the position we're in. But do we know anything about this weapon they're making? Or what Tomura would plan to do with it, if he took our side against Overhaul?

[idologue]

I don't know the details, but I do understand the gist of it. Their society is built up on the idea of worshipping a certain type of person as heroes, leaving them to do as they please while those who are incapable of living up to the hero standard fall by the wayside.

What Tomura wants it to burn this idea of heroism to the ground. And what Overhaul can give him is a means of destroying their top symbol. I don't know exactly it is or how it would work.

Tomura is only concerned with destruction. What kind of world comes after the old one is destroyed... that is something he will leave up to the people he loves. He may act based on loathing and spite, but he also desires their full freedom.

[ Even if he would break out in hives if he heard her call it 'love'. ]

Does he? I suppose that makes sense.

[ It's not skepticism. She's purely absorbing the information before she nods. ]

Thank you, Lacus. It's probably more than we're in a position to deal with, anyway. But I did want to know.

I can't say I care what happens to their society. [Honest, straightforward, unrepentant.]

If that's our best chance we may have no choice but to take it. Providing Overhaul does not betray him first.

If I am completely honest, I believe it is right for their society to be challenged, if not overthrown.

I don't agree with Tomura's methods of doing so, but if I were in his position... I would fight as well. In my own way.

You may respect his goals all you like, but in this war he's our opponent, right? Let's not lose sight of that. I imagine he will fight against us until the end, just as I would.

Anyone in the world, eh?

[ ibuki's around, but not particularly interested still. when he hears that though he sips at his coffee and looks around the room because hmm thoughts. ]

...While I agree that Tomura and Overhaul will never be on actual good terms, that does not mean he will take the group's side against him.

I don't believe he will - but that doesn't mean this fact isn't of use, no?

Overhaul is the one who is planning all this. If we focus on him as our main enemy, Tomura has no reason to interfere with our doing.

... except maybe to tear Overhaul apart and turn him into dust limb by limb, at the end.

[ Which... is kind of neither here nor there to her, actually. ]

If you have a plan to actually take down Overhaul in a fight, then sure, maybe of use.

I don't think any of us but Tomura knows his full capabilities. And he's not about to coach us on that.

Oh, yeah. Walt asked the other day, so I got a little more curious about if we could do anything with these, but...

I've managed to create an abomination to flutter its way gently through the nonexistent wind of that little game we've all got, but that's pretty much all I've managed so far on that front. If we want to mess with the computers or network or whatever we probably need to get right on in there rather than hope we can do anything from the outside!

Other than that, apparently! Our friend Bills here has gone and visited at least part of their secret lab before, through a secret entrance on the golf course.

[ is that one of the ones that are on the map from this morning? oh well. magolor would be surprised if they didn't brick that up... or if they didn't, maybe they expect that to be an easy way to catch them all in one place? tunnel collapse sounds like such a fun way to go. ]

He's mentioned that he had to go through two security tunnels or something to even get into the lobby, and at least some of the doors down in it are locked via fingerprint scanner.

I guess it's worth mentioning that it doesn't seem like they're all that fussed by loose ends or the idea of Bills blabbing anything to us, considering they haven't done anything about him, and his visit was apparently nice and peaceful and not like, bag over someone's head levels of secret, so. They're probably more than a little confident in their setup down there, whatever it is.

[ or it's a trap. but they're long past the point of worrying about that now, aren't they? ]

And here he told me that he was not about to let any of us walk into their secret lair... Well, maybe the lobby doesn't count as the core yet?

A fingerprint scanner is an electronic lock... I don't know if Mr. Pink's hacking capabilities are powerful enough for that, but it could be worth a try in absence of other options...?

I'm honestly surprised they didn't knock him out to bring him there! But it does raise the question of whether they would have left that particular entrance usable— a probably not is my vote.

I think we established the other day our options are kind of slim when it comes to that kind of thing, right...? Short of chopping one of their hands off or getting something else that has their prints all over it, anyway.

Gettin’ a feeling that the one I saw was mostly for the business table, and their goose eggs like the weapon and the way home are stuffed deeper down.
