WEEK SIX

WEEK SIX
16 Vacationers

Throughout your time on the island, there's been a steady rhythm; the murders, the trials, the executions, the clean-up afterwards that leave just up remnants for you to remember what was lost. This Monday morning though, things are different. The debris and any biohazards are cleared, but no effort has been made to repair the games at the arcade, or to restock the chemicals and damaged equipment at the laboratory.

Odd.

If you cast your eyes to the sky, you'll also notice that the distortion is also lingering—there's certainly less of it at least, a haze still lingering over the go-karts, one whirlpool lingering out in the sea. It could be worse, surely.

Though there's no new locations for you to take your mind off of all these oddities either. In fact, looking at your device to access the resort map area and scrolling past Kakapo's Nest triggers an error.

There’s one more, slightly more eclectic change: the kittybots, instead of having cute kitty ears and faces, are now without exception round-headed. This would make them look like ordinary robots, but their heads actually now look like a bowl of fish swimming, which occasionally form up into expressions. A change of pace for everything, it seems.

Right. Even if the drugs are ineffective on them for some reason, there's still the possibility it'll work on Nomu we come across. Can't hurt to keep one.

Agreed. Depowering them would make dealing with them much easier.

Especially with those that have unknown abilities... It'll be tricky if multiple of those come at once? While much easier with more than four of us figuring things out, we'll have to be aware of how much the environment can take. If the area collapses during a fight, that'll be a huge problem.

I can't imagine an enclosed space like an underwater or underground lab would be the best place for a fight, that's for sure.

I'll bet certain members of our group wouldn't appreciate the close quarters either.

That said, I wonder if we should be prepared to see things from where we're from as well, just in case?

[ it sure isn't! ]

Hmm, probably? But I'd guess it'd be augmented with something else to throw a curveball at us. So even if we could normally fight them off easily, we'd still be slowed down.

[ he just shakes his head a little. ]

Nah, I didn't mean to say that I think it'd be easier if they did that. I'm just saying we're planning a lot for the Nomu, but there could be all sorts of curveballs they might throw at us if they're capable. Like...

I was just thinking about that LELANTOS thing they were running on the dead back in the lab Haruka and Zelkov found, and some of the random things they ended up tracing or retrieving or whatever. It's been weeks since then. Maybe that was a red herring, or maybe it's still relevant, and maybe their synchronization rates got better, whatever that means.

Ah, that part. I see what you mean. We never did find any updated files on that, right?

[ or even something on zelkov's son? ]

If they're bothering to spend time on it, then my guess it's probably at least somewhat relevant. Not sure how much of it would tie back to the drugs they're developing though.

Neither of them strike me as the type to let an opportunity go by.
