21 Vacationers

The weekend sure was something, wasn't it? Tempers flared, explosions burst, and some were treated to an immersive sand bath experience. Come Monday at least, things seem quieter though not in the unnatural still way—the distortions on the islands have receded sometime in the night (with some impressive firework-like booms that may have stirred your sleep, at that; and the waves seem a little higher this morning) and the various amenities on the island have been made orderly again. Though, as always, some traces remain in the landscape; the waterfall looks like it has seen better days, though it's no longer in danger of coughing up debris on your head if looked at wrong.

This week like the rest brings new locations for you to explore, on Kakapo's Nest though it seems like only one of them really fits the vacation vibe. Hope you like snow!

WEATHER, and general state of the islands

[ At the start of this week, these islands seem as they usually do.

The birds are chirping, the sky is blue, and the sea-salt scent easily wafts in through to everyone who emerges from the realm of dreaming into one of waking.

Yet, it is clear that somehow, there is a balance that has...shifted.

Those who stride by the garden might witness it emanating a strange glow, but even then, the animals seem different somehow, an ethereal presence about them.

And then there is a certain rabbit-like, or rather, squirrel-esque animal who may be seen currently running around the island. Eyes glowing, like any other animal. If it should, or any other creature, lock eyes with anyone who meets such a gaze, everything will change. But, this also seems to remain true with those who don't encounter wildlife either, as they too can and will experience a change in their surroundings. Perhaps it may only be one day this week, a few days, or most of the week.

They will suddenly be unmercifully thrust into a familiar place, with a familiar set of faces; ones containing from one's own memories. Or perhaps...an unfamiliar place, with an unfamiliar set of faces borne from others.

Either way, nothing is natural this week. And the scent of flowers may be detected all over the island.

[ OOC: I have a short list of memories for Xiao, with brief summaries!

– The Yakshas: A little glimpse into the rise and downfall Xiao's family. There's not a whole lot of actual scenes that are super concrete, so this will be more like a montage (which I will link) that characters will witness than a single, concrete memory.

– The Chasm: (CW: Suicidal ideation) This involves Xiao being trapped underground with a fewo ther Genshin characters. He's on a quest to figure out what happened to one of brothers, known as the "Nameless Yaksha", and I can either give you a battle scene, or a scene involving Xiao's plan to sacrifice himself to save the others.

– The Lantern Rite: This is more of a lighthearted memory in which Xiao is extremely nervous and awkward at dinner.

SNOW ROOM/COLD STORAGE.

[ In the midst of all the weird memory sharing, Xiao starts to explore the new island that's opened up. It's not what he expected it to be by far, and he's morbidly curious about the new locations. He finds himself drawn to the snow room first, and he can be found searching through the storage containers, squinting at the specimens inside; or wandering deeper into the room and trying to figure out how to get locked doors open. (He can't.) ]

[ This fine Monday morning, Lacus can be found at the Beach on Sungems Peak where she is building a sand castle together with her Haro companions. Or maybe for her Haro companions? Mr. Pink is sitting perched on the castle tower and looking as pleased about it as a ball of metal can. Lacus is humming as she reinforces his castles walls and decorates them with seashells.

Later in the day, she can be found exploring the new locations. Which means she's currently in the Cold Storage, looking through all the specimens stored. She's frowning as she goes about it, but otherwise seems pretty neutral about the matter. ]

... now, what were you being sampled for, I wonder...?

[ At other times, you can probably find her wandering about singing her little songs, hit me with something random! ]

four buddies and the wayfarer - this is more going to be a sort of montage and collection of various interactions with a couple of other characters rather than a single continuous memory. a slow building friendship, close saves here and there, assistance in rebuilding his crashed ship, magolor exposition dumping, that's all here.

[Nona's hands trace over the smooth surface of the lamps, her expression surprisingly thoughtful. Everything's so smooth and pristine, especially for her standards. It reminds her a little of The Angel's class, and the hour of science. Noodle seems to love it too, as he trails around Nona's feet.]

The Beach

[Nona doesn't get in the water this time, she just sits on the bank with Noodle at her side. Her feet dip into the water.]
