As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

• Reading about your fellow vacationers via their profile
• Chatting on the network
• Asking honest questions via our anonymous poll system
• REQUIRED: Reading the RULES set by the administrators

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

Needless to say, my physical statistics and abilities were filled in much like the others. I have to wonder if Raptor did a bit of research into our worlds in addition to taking our measurements. Some of the terminology used in the abilities is rather specific.

On a less important note, I find it amusing that Raptor took the liberty to mention your lack of skill with sewing.

I don't get why they would. But it's not like it's wrong. I'm not great with delicate work.

I'd say being able to do the heavy lifting has its own value. The demon bit was a surprise, though...

Some people can tell right away. I was surprised you couldn't at first.

I don't mind using my strength if needed. Compensation would be nice, though.

Such forces tend to be a bit more...conspicuous, where I come from. Our grouchy friend Vergilius, for example, had me concerned for a moment when we first arrived. What with his bright red gaze and all.

[But neither Vergilius or Beelzebub seem like the type to cause chaos on a massive scale for nefarious purposes. They've got their own things going on, so Temenos is just chillin'.]

I wouldn't dream of asking for your assistance without a snack at the ready, dear Beelzebub.

Vergilius is okay. Not a demon, but still okay.

He needs to eat more, though.

We're not. Keeping our strength up is important. But forcing yourself through food doesn't make it enjoyable. I'm not a fan of that.

It certainly is specific. I created and thus named all of my abilities, yet I don't remember being asked about them.

I don't, no. I have written it down in my notes, but they're disorganized and would take some time to sort through... at least for someone other than myself. I have to wonder how long they spent researching.

Most of the terminology is... kind of consistent? At least, when it comes to defining the abilities listed, anyway.

There are a couple of outliers, though.

Oh, I just mean that a lot of it reads like one person could have written it all. Most of it's very brisk and to the point: 'can do this,' 'able to do that,' 'doing such and such.'

Then you have a handful of ones like mine and Billy's, and the quip about edginess on Waltaquin's that make it seem like whoever wrote those was feeling a little sillier than on the rest of them.

Maybe whoever it was just has a sense of humor. Or they were getting tired. Or hungry.

People always think a little differently when they're hungry.
