Throughout your time on the island, there's been a steady rhythm; the murders, the trials, the executions, the clean-up afterwards that leave just up remnants for you to remember what was lost. This Monday morning though, things are different. The debris and any biohazards are cleared, but no effort has been made to repair the games at the arcade, or to restock the chemicals and damaged equipment at the laboratory.

Odd.

If you cast your eyes to the sky, you'll also notice that the distortion is also lingering—there's certainly less of it at least, a haze still lingering over the go-karts, one whirlpool lingering out in the sea. It could be worse, surely.

Though there's no new locations for you to take your mind off of all these oddities either. In fact, looking at your device to access the resort map area and scrolling past Kakapo's Nest triggers an error.

There’s one more, slightly more eclectic change: the kittybots, instead of having cute kitty ears and faces, are now without exception round-headed. This would make them look like ordinary robots, but their heads actually now look like a bowl of fish swimming, which occasionally form up into expressions. A change of pace for everything, it seems.

[ Despite everything from the other day, Xiao is here. He looks calm, back to his usual self, though there is obvious shame on his face when he speaks up. ]

...There was a high-pitched noise that occurred yesterday and temporarily ended my karma. That is how I was able to break out of the state I was in. I'm sure we're aware by now that this came from Shigaraki.

But...I'm fairly certain it nullified all my abilities. I could not even sense my other powers from my Vision. This nullification only lasted for around fifteen minutes.

How do your abilities feel now? Are they back to where they were before they were nullified?

Yes. They have returned, including my karma.

I suppose it’s a relief that your abilities are back, but I have to wonder if they could be nullified for even longer through that method.

Is that what it was... I think it's technology of some kind. I wonder... I imagine they could make it last longer, if they wanted.

Possibly. I wouldn't put it past them to be able to create something like that.

What have they made that's able to connect us all? [The memories, too, everyone spilling into each other the way time is not a real line.]

Zelkov said the same thing to me - that there is reason to believe they're controlling our ability through technology rather than magic.

Counteracting that seems like it would serve us well.

Anyone else notice the sound came from us? Makes you wonder if they implanted something inside of us of if that is how one of their abilities works. The formal makes sense because they would need a way to monitor us at all times while this whole experiment happens.

We don't know how long we were out for back when we all first got here.

But we do know it was long enough for them to get a good look at us and figure out what we're all supposedly able to do.

If that's the case, then I wonder why didn't they just collect our blood then? Maybe they needed a demonstration of abilities for each sample?

That would explain the beeping that only some of us could hear, such as when we were summoned to the waterfall.

They may have picked a few us randomly to bring over there to clean up their mess.

That would make sense, I think? They've been keeping our powers limited, and I don't know that it would be possible for them to be drugging us all the time.

If that's it, I wonder if it's really the drug that gave Wei Wuxian his powers back for a bit, or if the administrators just... gave them back to test it.

It does sound more likely that they removed or even lowered the block to see what it'll do. We could always ask the rat among the mice if he knows that's the case.

Usually my ability varies by the amount of power the other person has. A person with weak abilities will be sealed for less time than someone more powerful.

[ crea raises an eyebrow, thoughtful. ]

I thought it was Kanon being weak, but when I sealed her abilities, I did gauge that it would only be sealed for fifteen minutes.
