As much as this vacation was unplanned, hopefully you've found some time to enjoy yourself this weekend as you've settled in. The idyllic beach, all inclusive food, drink, and shopping might be almost enough to distract you from that pesky talk of sacrifice. Vacations really are about letting your worries pass you by. Hopefully you've found the time to set up your U-PINION too, because if you haven't, it's been chirping incessantly since the date turned to Monday. And come Monday at noon, everyone's device will let out a pleasant jingle, heralding several announcements across the screen:

Happy Monday! We've hope you've been enjoying your time at Sungem's Peak. The Mermer (intranet) is now fully operational. Chat with your friends and get recommendations for how to best enjoy your vacation, by:

• Chatting on the network
• Asking honest questions via our anonymous poll system
• REQUIRED: Reading the RULES set by the administrators

The artificial peppiness of the announcement just oozes out from the U-PINION, and soon thereafter everyone will be accosted by a friendly robot that forces a physical copy of the rules into their hands anyway. Just in case. They'll also present a copy of the tasks this week as well, for any interested parties.

And no, not a lot. But it's fun when I do. I'm not as good a swimmer as Leviathan, but I'm still pretty strong with it.

It would be best if no one got inebriated in the first place. I understand that we're all trying to learn to trust each other, but that is letting one's guard down a bit too much.

Haha, a bit. [He takes a sip of his drink, glancing at the festivities.] I can only handle an unruly flock for so long before I need a break.

[ Yeah, that would be a question people unfamiliar with space colonies would come up with. Having been born well into the era of space colonization, there is a lot that is self-explanatory to Lacus that other people here just... never even thought about. It's an interesting experience. ]

There's no ocean, but there are artificial lakes - they can have beaches. You have to imagine that it's kind of like... living in a huuuge box that is decorated to look like nature?

I lived by a lake, in space. But I also moved down to Earth for a little, and that was by the actual ocean!

He's about to say something to the opposite effect, but...er. For some reason changes his mind and then sips a drink instead. What a time. At least it tastes good. ]

I think it's important to hold onto the memories about the ones you don't have anymore. Especially if they're somebody you loved.
