Execution

The haze still lingers over the islands, snaking through with a low thrum. Today it's time to fix that, to enact some semblance of justice for Kallamar. As for Skywarp's killer, for now they'll continue to walk free.

The setup is much the same as it was two weeks ago with Overhaul and Shigaraki present, willing participants guided by the kittybots to the sandbar. There's popcorn offered again, though this time there's also the addition of popcorn shrimp, perhaps to keep in trend with the offerings from trial.

Settle in to watch the show, the two figures standing in the middle in clear view.

(( OOC: Executions are voluntary except for the executed and executioner. The path back to the island will also remain for the entirety of the execution, so characters may leave whenever they wish as well.))

[Kanon is here! Her makeup is a mess from crying, and she's obviously not as confident on her feet now, but she's still got some tricks up her sleeve.

Also, a sword. A katana, in fact! Hopefully it's cool if she borrows Tenkuuzakura, it's not like anyone needs that in one piece or anything.]

[ on the other end, the figure is less detailed. shrouded in black from head to toe and a hoodie covering his eyes, one might almost miss crea dragging his feet into the area. his demeanor is of one that's been forced to take an annoying task or chore, and his voice shows it just as well. ]

What a pain... I don't usually do things in this manner, but these overseers are unreasonable. They gave her a sword and everything.

[ with a heavy sigh, he places his hand on his hip--or, to be more exact, the sword on his hip, and removes it...

only to toss it far away from him. ]

I don't need this. [ a pause. a tilt of his head. ] What'd'ya wanna say? Any last words?

POPCORN (shrimp)

[ Spectating goes here! ]

[Initially, Nona set herself up a bit away from everyone, sitting in a hunched over position, watching through tired eyes as Kanon enters the arena with her sword. She thinks that Kanon looks like a great big beautiful balloon that's slowly leaking air. Or a puppy that's been drenched in rainwater.

Then Crea shows up and her eyes widen into something more closely resembling fear.]

Crea?

[plunges]

[ Likewise, he's also shocked to see Crea standing there. He knows firsthand that Crea is strong, a formidable opponent, and that he's discording the sword at his side shows that he's confident in his capabilities to fend for himself.

...Xiao hopes that's true, at least. All they can do is watch.

He stands next to Nona and places a hand on her shoulder. ]

He will be okay.

[ But he knows she's concerned for Kanon, too. ]

That is to say, she seems to be enjoying herself.]

[Update: She’s back to being sickos, but now she has a sword.]

[Shuda's here (still down one (1) metal hand, though with shrapnel wounds healed thanks to Psyche and Temenos) in part because he feels largely responsible for the events of yesterday. He started this, and he's going to see it through to the very end, because maybe that will make that tiny twinge of guilt that's been plaguing him ever since the trial finally go away.

... and then he sees what she's carrying and his face goes sheet-white.]

Don't you DARE!

[He looks like he's about to make a break for it...]

[ is on team let shuda cook though, so he doesn't make a move to restrain him if he's gonna run into the arena....... ]

[ Psyche is very distracted by her bestie being extremely Normal about executions, and it's not like she can physically prevent Shuda from doing anything. But still: ]

[ listen to the popcorn shrimp gallery, they're correct ]

[ Alice is just here with a thing of popcorn for her and a thing of popcorn shrimp for Athos.

She's more interested in seeing what Crea does, at this point. ]

[ magolor does not show up in his usual manner of just walking like anybody else; anyone who was at the waterfall last week after maxeta will recognize the way he lets himself fall out of the void onto the sandbar.

honestly, how big is this sandbar anyway, considering the risk of shrapnel injury for the audience with who's out there? well, whatever. he's parking himself by one of the kittybots to just Watch. ]

[ after certain stunts, he flourishes a hand with no particular energy, and ...

draws an odd apple from nowhere in particular, expression blank. tossing it up and down in a hand almost consideringly, he continues watching as things play out. ]

[ Moravia's around, like last time this occurred. She stands up straight and tall; if the breeze moves her hair, people will see a pinkish red ribbon fluttering where it should be. And once again she gets popcorn (shrimp), but doesn't move to eat them. Her eyes linger on the two chosen. ]

[ zelkov is watching this very closely and frowning very hard. ]

[ Wow! He doesn’t like this! ]

[Bad! BAD! Fuck the beach peanut gallery and fuck all that he is running--]

[ These are sure events that are happening and they are sure unfortunate ones.

Unlike about half of the audience, Lacus remains seated and is just watching with a concerned expression on her face. There's nothing she can do here, she's not a fighter like the others, and she'd rather not make anyone trip over her. ]

[ Wei Wuxian knows where he is not needed, and that applies here. So he’s standing next to Lacus so they can watch this all go down together.

He does, however, put what he hopes is a comforting hand on her shoulder. ]

[ josh is with the rest of the toucan cabana watching this shit go down with just. this expression. ]

[ Pretend I didn't show up late with coffee.

Arms crossed as he watches. It was tempting to join the conga line but he had a feeling there will be consequences. ]

[Well, everything sure fucking happens, huh? Billy isn’t among the crowd charging to help Crea (it seems like they aren’t allowed to, and it’s not like there’s much to be done on his part), but Kanon says something that leaves him a bit tempted.

“All humans have to die anyway.”

Ain’t that funny. He’s thought the same about people like her. Hughie’s girlfriend had called him a bully for it, no different than the people he hated, but what else was he supposed to think when such a large majority of superpowered people were like Kanon?

Either way, Crea’s back up pretty quickly. He’s able to shut Kanon’s ego and confidence down pretty quickly, and without that sort of power, she’s back to being a panicked little brat.

It’s a kind of poetic justice.]
