Execution

The haze still lingers over the islands, snaking through with a low thrum. Today it's time to fix that, to enact some semblance of justice for Kallamar. As for Skywarp's killer, for now they'll continue to walk free.

The setup is much the same as it was two weeks ago with Overhaul and Shigaraki present, willing participants guided by the kittybots to the sandbar. There's popcorn offered again, though this time there's also the addition of popcorn shrimp, perhaps to keep in trend with the offerings from trial.

Settle in to watch the show, the two figures standing in the middle in clear view.

(( OOC: Executions are voluntary except for the executed and executioner. The path back to the island will also remain for the entirety of the execution, so characters may leave whenever they wish as well.))

Hey, hey, if you wanted to do this you shoulda tried yesterday!

[ Shigaraki jumps off from where he'd been watching all of this first, not even a glance back at Overhaul as he does so. He's fast, way faster than anyone has ever seen him move before. He really shouldn't have been allowed to drink that Mountain Dew Kickstart yesterday.

Either way, he can fully block Beel with ease, hello he will not be disintegrating Beel, we're doing this the old fashioned way with grappling into a straight up old fashioned slam into the ground. There's actual strength and muscles beneath all this edge.

As for Xiao, and the rest of the galley that's come from running. This is a lot, because Shigaraki is fast but he can't actually cover that many bodies efficiently, so—

He really doesn't have to, though. Black, spiked tendrils erupt from his hands, so have fun with that. These are not aimed lethal but they will absolutely pierce anyone that gets him by that and him aim is pretty good.

As for the items thrown, those are ignored. + 1 apple and dango into the arena. ]

[Down he goes, but his demon form erupts underneath the pin on the ground, thrashing for purchase. He is going to try to grab Shigaraki by the arm to attempt to fling him out into the ocean.]

[Everything is happening so fast. Temenos didn't want to stop Beelzebub from his advance given how much Crea means to him, but this--]

Beel, do not fight him.

[Too late, but Overhaul stops that so he is now in angry baby sand jail.]

[ His attention is split with having to pull out his other quirk, so Beel is successful in moving him a bit, but he'll feel resistance after a few seconds, enough to not get enough purchase to actually fling him.

Beel's demon strong packs a punch, but so does Shigaraki when he's actually engaged in fighting. It's probably a bit surprising, given how he's done the bare minimum here so far, but this sure is a weekend. They can tussle for a few seconds, Shigaraki debating his next move (and the contact they currently have because it sure would be easy to— )

But then Overhaul is making this a quicksand pool so that doesn't last too long. He'll let go of Beel after a moment, with a sneer. ]

Too bad, that coulda been fun! [ Is that at Beel or Overhaul? Yes. ]

[And down into the sand he goes, probably for the better. There's a visible struggle, in which he only just sinks further down, but he'll still roar violently in Shigaraki's direction.

That’s enough.

[Overhaul hasn’t moved from his spot, just casually crouched to get his hands on the ground. A couple of things happen in quick succession:

1. A giant, shimmering dome of glass rises out of the sand and encases the two participants in the execution; they go noticeably a little lower, but they were in an arena bowl anyway.
2. Every single person trying to participate in the execution will find themselves wrapped fully in sand. Trying to struggle out of it will be like fighting quicksand.]

[Someone has absolutely not learned his lesson at all and is immediately going to try to use his Dark Bring on that sand enveloping him. IN HIS DEFENSE, this is very much not one of his more rational moments for obvious reasons.

Sorry about more explosions, everyone else... not that they're going to get him out of that, but he's going to keep trying anyway.]

[A little bit after everyone had their extreme reaction, Nona cocks her head in a completely puzzled manner, seemingly catching up with what was happening on this side of the execution.]

What'd you all do that for?

[(nona voice) LET! HIM! COOK!]

[ from the sand trap, in response to this, comes a thumbs up. ]

[ He is regretting leaving his spear behind for this exact reason, because he would have gladly chopped one of those tendrils off, even if it costed him his life. Anything to get to Crea.

He dodges the first tendril, the second, and the third. Then, he sees Crea rise to his feet again, after laying motionless on the ground. That is enough for him to get distracted and subsequently get pierced by the fourth, right in his side. Xiao stumbles backward afterwards, and his hand covers his abdomen as he groans in pain...just as the quicksand starts to kick in.

Time for baby sand jail. 🧍‍♂️ ]

[ Her approach isn't quite as reckless now that she's been talked down and she's seen the others grabbed by the sand. She's trying not to look like she's making a break for the arena as she heads over to Xiao to get within healing range to do what she can for the wound. It would be better if she could see what she's working with, but the golden glow of her healing gathers around her just the same. ]

Xiao, are you alright?

[ we have it on good authority that he just needs a bandaid!! it's probably fine!! ]

[God dammit sickos has to do something that isn’t watch the show. She is very small and light but it doesn’t stop her from trying to armblock Psyche.]

And just what do you think your sword is made of?

[ If he wants her to stop he's going to have to pick her up, tbh. ]

[ He has her arm, but she can definitely break free. If she can, he’ll let her go only because he trusts her. ]

[ Though... not here. That gets her to pause long enough to miss the first round of tendrils, probably. Her arm is taut as she pulls against his hold, but she's not committed enough to break free yet. ]

[ Psyche pivots on her heel to duck under that blocking arm on pure reflex before she pauses. Just for a second, long enough to scramble at unbuckling her sword and thrust it at Waltaquin. ]

[ AND SHE'S ABOUT TO BE OFF AGAIN if Quin doesn't take the sword it's getting dropped right there ]
