WEEK 4; EXECUTION

Execution

The haze still lingers over the islands, snaking through with a low thrum. Today it's time to fix that, to enact some semblance of justice for Kallamar. As for Skywarp's killer, for now they'll continue to walk free.

The setup is much the same as it was two weeks ago with Overhaul and Shigaraki present, willing participants guided by the kittybots to the sandbar. There's popcorn offered again, though this time there's also the addition of popcorn shrimp, perhaps to keep in trend with the offerings from trial.

Settle in to watch the show, the two figures standing in the middle in clear view.

(( OOC: Executions are voluntary except for the executed and executioner. The path back to the island will also remain for the entirety of the execution, so characters may leave whenever they wish as well.))

[ on the other end, the figure is less detailed. shrouded in black from head to toe and a hoodie covering his eyes, one might almost miss crea dragging his feet into the area. his demeanor is of one that's been forced to take an annoying task or chore, and his voice shows it just as well. ]

What a pain... I don't usually do things in this manner, but these overseers are unreasonable. They gave her a sword and everything.

[ with a heavy sigh, he places his hand on his hip--or, to be more exact, the sword on his hip, and removes it...

only to toss it far away from him. ]

I don't need this. [ a pause. a tilt of his head. ] What'd'ya wanna say? Any last words?

[finalforte]

...Are you joking?

[She grins nervously - it looks more like a grimace.]

Don't try to pretend now. It's not like you ever cared what Kanon said before!

[Her eyes followed the blade as he tosses it aside, and perhaps predictably she points at it - creating a large explosion, destroying the blade from any usable state.

It's not the only thing. She snaps her arm in Crea's direction, sending smaller explosions right in his face to try to take him down quick. Those with sharp eyes may just notice the sleight of hand at work, the rings vanishing from her fingers in a surprisingly quick and smooth movement.]

[ it's true that crea doesn't care about what kanon wants to say. but he figured that others did and therefore should have a right to hear her last words. her deciding against it doesn't sway him one way or the other. he simply needs to finish this job and go back to his cabana.

if they'll even take him in after this.

of course, the explosion is to be expected. sharp sword parts come flying, and crea has to set a barrier to block them. they bounce away from him and into the ground. ]

[ but even as he takes a step back, ready to raise another barrier, he realizes a failure on his part.

he had never bothered to try his abilities on the island. he knew that they worked, but not to the full extent. when the spell fails to complete, there's a sudden look of surprise as he tries to step away from the sight of the exploding jewelry. his sight is fast, with years of hunting and fighting under his belt, but there's only so much speed that he can add to his body. even if he steps away from it he-- ]

Ah-

[ what he feels first isn't the sharp pain of shrapnel digging into his jugular and windpipe, but a sudden inability to breathe and a drowning sensation. the sleight of hand did it's work beautifully, as crea has to quickly run back, holding his throat in hopes of staunching the bleeding. ]

[She sees that, and it emboldens her, marching forwards with the sword held (completely incorrectly) at her side. But, even that's fine.

It's not like she needs to know how to use the sword to use it, and judging by the cries of their audience everyone knows exactly how that's going to go down already.]

[Her laugh is a cackle, unkind and... frankly bordering on delusional. She's closer now - not too close, for what's probably obvious reasons. She hefts the sword.]

It's okay. All humans have to die anyway. Kanon will even make it nice~ and~ quick~♪

[And with a radiant smile - she lobs the sword at him, waiting until it's near him to destroy it with one big, painful bang.]

[ crea listens to kanon, his expression oddly not nearly as perturbed as it should be for a man that's suddenly facing the gallows. perhaps it's because he's faced it a hundred times before, with people persecuting him and sion as the demon children of the calamity.

all humans have to die, anyway.

a small laugh escapes him, a choked wheeze as more blood bubbles up in his throat, as he wonders if he should recruit her into their team. she'd be perfect.

but as he thinks that, she throws the sword at him, and all he can do is turn his back away from her as shards of metal dig into his back and pierce his lungs. motionless, he slumps into the ground. ]

[She continues to laugh as he falls, stalking over to admire her handiwork. And she'd been so scared earlier - how silly of her!

Of course Kanon would win.

[ crea coughs, wet and heavy, as he spits out blood and saliva that has built up in his throat and lungs. his first breaths are wheezes, but as he continues, they quickly return to their normal state.

he removes his hand from kanon's ankle. what he wanted to do is done. ]

You...are so annoying...I can't believe I had to.... sit through that stupid speech. Can I charge for that?

[The hand around her ankle has the intended effect - she freezes in place, like a kid caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

Truly, she's so unsuited for combat. It doesn't take much to make her startle, and those moments can be so very fatal.]

[ something about the look of surprise brings a smile upon crea's face. it's not an honest one by any means, but it's a smile nonetheless. coupled with the blood that continues to trickle down his closing wounds, it must be quite the harrowing image. ]

You don't really know the first thing about killing, do you? You just blow shit up and hope that you cause enough damage to kill your opponent. Not only that, but you already used all the stuff on you, didn't ya?

[ slowly, shakily, he pushes himself back up to his feet. ]

I'm so glad I didn't wear Sii-tan's clothes for this. They would've gotten ruined.

[ slowly, he pulls out from his pants pocket... a simple kunai. ]

Try to blow this up for me, will you?

There's a quick flash of realization on her face, but because of her surprise she moves at a delay. Once again she reaches out her hand to use her power, a soundwave that can only agitate metals of all things to explode, but-

Let's be real. She's just not fast enough to actually do anything quick enough to matter.]

Thaaaat's right. You can't do anything, can you!?

[ he twirls the weapon in his finger, clearly toying with her. he's standing at full height now, his eyes clear and sharp like a hawk that's prepared for the kill. ]

Though I will say this. Had you been in my world, then perhaps my shitty Boss would've asked me to recruit you. I think he'd like your philosophy. If you make it back out, I'll recommend you, if you really want.

[ and he lobs the kunai towards kanon, purposely avoiding any of her vital areas. ]

[She screams - a weak, pathetic thing as the kunai strikes her, stumbling backwards and landing on her ass. A complete switch from just moments before, exuding that (utterly, completely fake) confidence.]

Wh- H-how are you-?

[She looks around desperately - metal. There has to be something-

The kunai, perhaps? It hurts, but she begins trying to wrench it out, if only for some kind of ammunition.]

How? Easy. Did you not even read my profile? Are you so self-centered that you won't even get information on anyone else around you?

[ this is a pain. this is so annoying. he doesn't want to do this. he wants to go back to the cabana. he wants to go back home. he wants to be with sion. he wants a peaceful life. he doesn't want to kill.

but a job is a job, and he has to fulfill it, as unreasonable as it is. with a measured gait, he approaches her, eyeing her down like she's the scum of the earth. just when did he fall so low, he wonders? when did he stop championing love and peace, and decide to take his anger out on the world? ]

I'll spell it out for you, Kanon. I'm fine, because I can heal. You can't explode that kunai, because I blocked your powers. And I didn't get stabbed by the first explosion because I can use defensive magic. Of course, with my magic, I can also slightly bolster my abilities to give myself a little bit more strength. Like this.

[ reaching for her, he grabs her by the throat with one hand, lifting her up in the air. ]

[Of course she didn't. Why would she?

Nothing should matter except for Kanon.

That doesn't help her here, though. Her hands shift uselessly to his, trying to pry his grip away from her throat as she chokes.]

[ the hand around her throat squeezes tighter, keeping her in place in the air. no matter how much she struggles, he doesn't move an inch as his focus is solely on her and teaching her a necessary lesson.

he's a spy, after all.

a spy for the boss. ]

Of course, healing means to stitch cellular tissue. So if you reverse it, you'll get something like this-

[ pulling out the kunai from her shoulder, his hand lights up with a familiar blue flame as he--

pushes through tissue, opening the wound further with far more ease than normal. with his debuff, however, he's not able to push through. ]

[It hurts. It hurts, and she can't even cry out about it, throat caught in his grasp as it is.

She scrabbles at his hands weakly - the one at her throat, and the one at her wound both, desperate to survive in spite of all logic.]

[ act like trash, get discarded like trash.

with a violent swing, crea tosses her to the side, his gaze impassive as he wonders what to do next. he wanted to cut her head off, but with both swords broken, he can't really do that now, can he?

he does eye the dango sword, however, not sure how that thing works.

he turns back casually, as if he weren't brutally beating up kanon, while pointing at the sword. ]

Hey, does that thing have an edge?

The struggling has extended to attempts to kick him, but given she's rapidly running out of air there's not much strength behind it.]

[ sorry kanon, but blocking your kick is as easy as side-stepping it. he turns back towards the crowd just in time to see zelkov's response, and his response is a cheerful smile and a thumbs up of his own. ]
