21 Vacationers

The weekend sure was something, wasn't it? Tempers flared, explosions burst, and some were treated to an immersive sand bath experience. Come Monday at least, things seem quieter though not in the unnatural still way—the distortions on the islands have receded sometime in the night (with some impressive firework-like booms that may have stirred your sleep, at that; and the waves seem a little higher this morning) and the various amenities on the island have been made orderly again. Though, as always, some traces remain in the landscape; the waterfall looks like it has seen better days, though it's no longer in danger of coughing up debris on your head if looked at wrong.

This week like the rest brings new locations for you to explore, on Kakapo's Nest though it seems like only one of them really fits the vacation vibe. Hope you like snow!

[ He pulls a shirt he hastily cut up into a square cloth from his robes and starts working on tying it onto Wang Lu. At least he knows what he’s doing here. ]

Did you let yourself get healed?

It's usually for the best to let it heal on it's own, but I did let Psyche give it a jump start.

How long will it take to heal?

[ He carefully ties the sling and… he should be good to go now. ]

Are you wondering how long you will have to take care of me? A few hours, but I don't intend on letting you go.

We found out something about what may have happened to you.

[ He frowns. ]

[ Psyche honey come over here. Placing his good hand on Wei Wuxian's shoulder. Where to even start? ]

It happened to Lady Xiao as well, but we didn't realize it was her. [ He's going to glance over to the Planetarium before looking away. ] There was a dragon looking for something in there. Once she realized she had company, she went on a rampage. We got Haruka out of there and defeated her. She changed back into Xiao and there was blood on her nose and mouth. Her tongue was also black.

[ He didn't get to see the puncture wound, but Walt will handle that info tomorrow ]

[ Oh... she hates this. She folds her arms around herself as she takes that in, narrowing her eyes a little. ]

[ For a moment, he doesn’t breathe. It feels like he’s been gut-punched. ]

Is… is she…?

[ Dead? He needs it fully confirmed. Defeated isn’t enough. ]

[ He looks serious, his gaze trying to catch Wei Wuxian's to figure out what it is he is feeling. ]

Yeah, she is. [ It's a heavy feeling knowing that he helped in that. There's also the whole what could have happened with Wei Wuxian if he had gone out of control like that. ]

[ What Wang Lu will find is grief and confusion as Wei Wuxian wonders why he ended up fine. ]

I didn’t want her to die.

[chosenwang]

[ Digging his fingers in to his shoulder. ]

If you want to hold it against me, I will carry that with everything else. [ If it means Wei Wuxian has something to blame to feel better, it's fine. ] The others may be able to help with figuring out why it's different.

[diabolizes]

[ He shakes his head. ]

Why would I blame you?

[ The source of the blame is the source of that poison.

Wei Wuxian pushes the grief in his heart down below every other piece of grief he’s ever felt. ]

…It’s selfish of me, but I wanted her to live through this. She told me she would try but… trying isn’t enough, is it?

[ Sometimes people like to place blame on those who shouldn't be blamed. Wei Wuxian's own memory had something like that...

He does move his hand to wrap his arm around him to pull him close. Ignoring the pain shooting in his arm for a moment. ]

We're all selfish in that regard. I want you to live through this, no matter what. [ Don't go burying that grief. ] I will give you my shoulder and everything else if you need to cry.

[ He allows himself to be pulled forward, resting his face in the crook of Wang Lu’s neck. While he feels shaky, he doesn’t cry. ]

You need to live too.

[chosenwang]

I'll live. [ Pressing a kiss against his hair. ] I know promises are difficult here, but I really go enjoy holding you in my arms. I don't intend on giving that up any time soon.

[diabolizes]

[ That at least gets a short laugh from him. ]

Good to hear. If you die, you’re at my beck and call for eternity.

[chosenwang]

Wanting me at your beck and call for life and in death? You're quite greedy. [ It doesn't sound like he minds in the least bit. ] I did say I'd haunt you. I'll make sure you know just how irreplaceable I am.

[diabolizes]

[ Talk of this honestly makes him feel better… ]

It’s a good thing I treat my ghosts well, isn’t it?

I hope you're planning on treating me extra well. I'm not just another ghost. I am your boo. [ Giving a wink at that. While they might have to have a serious talk later, right now it's about making him feel better. ]

[ She's mostly just going to let them talk before she hustles Waltaquin off to avoid any more inappropriate reactions to death, but. She moves in to snuggle against Wei Wuxian's back and try to wrap them both in a brief hug without jostling Wang Lu's arm. ]

[ He reaches back for her hand, squeezing it for just a moment before letting go. ]

[ Wei Wuxian is now a sandwich filling. Sandwuxian?]

[diabolizes]

[ That gets a laugh out of him. ]

I can consider special treatment. Perhaps if you give me more puns to use, I’ll treat you like a ghost king.

[Girl if she and Psyche hadn't left at this point she definitely heard this and the corner of her mouth definitely twitched before she could stop it.]
