Like last week, the kitty bots herd everyone over to the sandbar once the time for investigation has concluded. At the least, this little piece of your personal hells has emerged unscathed in all the wreckage. Unlike last week, Overhaul and Shigaraki are already there waiting for you, the former looking about as grouchy as a mask can get and the latter looking pretty amused.

Off to the side in a booth of its own is the body as well as attendant kittybots; apparently it’s messy enough this time to require some clearance, but it’s still close enough for the admins to oversee.

This murder sure was something, even for your masterminds. Theorize and/or judge about who could have done such a thing and get a snack from your local kitty bots if you get hungry—the theme is italian today, with pizza, mozzarella sticks, stuffed meatballs and the like.

(( OOC: Welcome to your second trial! You'll have 7 hours (8PM EST/5PM PST) to find the killer and send them off their death, if you believe in justice at least. Since this is scapegoat style, finding the correct killer is not mandatory!

LAUNDRY - Washing Machines

I'm sure I don't need to inform any of you that the fight has taken quite a toll on our living area. The damaged resort roof should have been visible with ease.

Out of all the rooms in the main building, the laundry was hit hardest. The washers and dryers were largely destroyed. Two different forms of destruction were applied here. Most of the machines appear to have been sheared clean through - I examined the cuts, but I could not find any indication as to a weapon. The damage was very clean, no residue of any kind was to be found.

A few of the other machines appear to have been... crumpled for lack of a better word to use. As though someone was able to crush them like one would crush a tissue before discarding of it.

There was one pair of machines left intact, on top of it was Vergilius' clothes - the black set he was commonly wearing. The clothes were freshly washed and folded very orderly. I examined them but there was nothing else of note about them.

... that would explain why he was wearing one of those tropical shirts instead.

Why would someone have changed his clothes out? Shuda, you said what he had on was put on over his injuries, right?

There weren't any holes in the shirt. There was blood, but I couldn't see what had happened until I unbuttoned it.

Why bother with that? And why clean his clothes out, or fold them?

A trophy, maybe?

[Hmm. That does make sense to the old bounty hunter part of him.]

It's possible, though I'm not sure where they thought they'd be able to hide something like that from everyone else.

Heheh! If the killer intended to keep Monsieur Vergilius' clothing as a trophy, don't you suppose they would have taken them instead of leaving them behind? What a étrange fétiche...

You would think that wouldn't stop a determined killer! Alas, we'll have to accept that while Monsieur Vergilius is no longer among us, at least his clothing is safe and free from harm.

Maybe it wasn't to take his clothes as a trophy but to ridicule him. Vergilius was a serious and grumpy man to the point of pessimism. The shirt would be like rubbing salt over the metaphorical wound.

That's a fine point! He was quite easy to tick off, wasn't he? Your theory isn't beyond the realm of possibility!

I feel as though we ought to at least consider a more benign reason for this, in that Vergilius was cleaning his clothes himself before this altercation took place.

There didn't seem to be any holes in his regular clothes. So he likely wasn't wearing them.

Maybe. Wouldn't the clothes be covered in debris from the roof if that was the case, though?

It takes time to wash clothes, dry them, and then fold them. Doesn't make sense for the killer to take all of that care, only to destroy the other machines. Do you think Ol' Verg was doing his own laundry?

I was thinking he was doing his own laundry as well. Unfortunately, he wasn't using the swimsuit dryer.

Considering the room damage, I was thinking the fight started there if that's the case.

It may have started there and he may have arrived there with his killer or someone else.

In the middle of the night? When he knew people are getting killed?

Vergilius-san seems very used to violence, so I doubt he would think it’s a strange thing to do. Still, it does like something that could have waited…

Yeah. That's what bothers me, too. He didn't seem like that kind of guy, but... I don't want to guess either way.

It would be the only time he could wear something different without being teased. [ Who would do such a thing as teasing Verg? It's a mystery ]

He's worn different stuff. I saw him out in a Hawaiian shirt last week.

If it was him, we should consider the possibility that he was readying himself to participate in the fight. He might not have wanted to ruin his favourite clothes, if this was a consensual duel.

But that does not explain why the machines with the clothes were free from harm - fight damage would have had to follow later, after all.
