WEEK 3 INVESTIGATION
INVESTIGATION
Good morning, sunshines, sungems, and wild partiers of the night! No matter what kind of night you had, you'll find yourself awakening to an energetic tune blasting out from the island speaker system, one that more than a few of you will recognize -- you won't be able to escape it, but why would you want to?
Music is a great way to start your day, and surely, this is a great omen for Fridays at this resort. There's at least one reason to get up dancing, as the wings of the warp phenomenon have vanished with the morning mist and the sea breeze; Kingfisher's Retreat boasts a beautiful, uninterrupted waterfall that reflects the morning sun once more, and the waves at Sungem's Peak are largely peaceful. Even the customary burst of sound and pressure was a little mollified by the addition of the new soundtrack. You know what that means by now, but hopefully the music will add a pep in your step. (( OOC: Welcome to your second investigation, we hope everyone is enjoying their DD refreshes ☆ ))

PSA: WHY
Do you people think repairing this resort and keeping it in working shape comes cheap? And I'm not talking about money here.
Looks like Vergilius is out of the running, and took about half the buildings with him. You'll just have to deal with it until we're done here.
Oh, and that little musical stunt? That had nothing to do with us. That's your problem to deal with. Three hours. You know how this goes by now.

Half the resort...well, that's a good show to put on for us, Vergilius.
[She's not a person who feels glum about most things by nature, but this is at least enough to give her pause.]
Well, work to do and little time to do it in. Chop chop!

Well, that’s fucking stupid, is Billy’s first thought. There’s got to be some other reason—he didn’t hear the announcement right? False alarm? He has to head over to the site to see for himself, just to confirm it.
(If you assume someone’s dead when you never find a body, you’re setting yourself up to look like an idiot when they come back.
When that someone dies right in front of you and all that’s left to look at is the body, you still end up being an idiot, because you’ll always wonder if you could have stopped it.)
Vergilius is definitely dead. Billy crouches by his corpse and sees that someone has already taken it upon themselves to close his eyes for him. So the most Billy can manage is a pat on the shoulder.]
I told you not to get fucking killed and leave me with this lot, didn’t I? Real dick move, Verg.
[They were both right about it being a rotten world they lived in. It’s only natural that the rot kills some people no matter how hard they try.
Still. Billy can’t help from muttering a barely audible “sorry, mate” to someone who can’t hear him.]

It's not fair.
I liked him! He was my friend!

It's not. It's not fair. I liked him, too.
I'm so sorry, Nona.

Xiao just observes, frown deepening. He shouldn't join them, but he's glad Beel's got her. ]

When he freezes, Beelzebub is urgently waving him over with one of his hands, as best as he can without loosening his grip on Nona. Come on, come here.]

He closes his eyes. It's hard to see her like this. ]

that's not a name he expected to hear in this context. and with the mess he's in the middle of finding ...
the harder they fall, huh? ]
