INVESTIGATION

Good morning, sunshines, sungems, and wild partiers of the night! No matter what kind of night you had, you'll find yourself awakening to an energetic tune blasting out from the island speaker system, one that more than a few of you will recognize -- you won't be able to escape it, but why would you want to?

Music is a great way to start your day, and surely, this is a great omen for Fridays at this resort. There's at least one reason to get up dancing, as the wings of the warp phenomenon have vanished with the morning mist and the sea breeze; Kingfisher's Retreat boasts a beautiful, uninterrupted waterfall that reflects the morning sun once more, and the waves at Sungem's Peak are largely peaceful. Even the customary burst of sound and pressure was a little mollified by the addition of the new soundtrack. You know what that means by now, but hopefully the music will add a pep in your step.

[She pauses her sobbing briefly to let out a surprised yelp before wrapping her arms around him and burying her face in Beel's shoulder.]

It's not fair.

I liked him! He was my friend!

[gluttoning]

[Just gripping her tight. If they're not on a bed, well surprise, now they are, and he is gonna pull them both up there and settle her against his lap, holding her tight and stroking her hair.]

It's not. It's not fair. I liked him, too.

I'm so sorry, Nona.

[plunges]

[ Xiao also rushes back to the cabana to seek out Nona, who they somehow left behind during curfew. He opens the door, eyes wide, and then he sees her nestled safely in Beel's arms. She may be sobbing, but at least she's safe.

Xiao just observes, frown deepening. He shouldn't join them, but he's glad Beel's got her. ]

[gluttoning]

[Ah, there's Xiao.

When he freezes, Beelzebub is urgently waving him over with one of his hands, as best as he can without loosening his grip on Nona. Come on, come here.]

[plunges]

[ Okay, he can do this. Xiao hesitates, but he takes a few steps forward, towards them. He doesn't quite embrace Nona, but he puts a hand on her shoulder. It's a small gesture that's meant to be comforting, but he doesn't say anything. This is all he can do.

He closes his eyes. It's hard to see her like this. ]
