The events of the past weekend, the past week, may linger on your mind as you awaken to the sun rising on your third week on Sungem's Peak. The rays of the sun are welcoming as always, and so are the amenities, and the new island— Kingfisher's Retreat.

The theme this week certainly seems to be relaxation and excitement, perhaps with a mind to distract all vacationers that your number has decreased by two. Or maybe you're the type to take a plunge in the name of your sacrificed vacationers? Either way, there's plenty of do, including more tasks for the objective minded.

[If Haruka was even more of an idiot then he already is, he'd refuse to take Zelkov's hand, but he's not that dumb. Dumb enough to not turn around when it feels like they're walking into some big cliche, sure, but still!]

[Now on solid ground, the green light is pretty hard to notice. His first thought is of recording lights (even if those are, usually, red), but it means he's looking to Zelkov for permission and pointing to it wordlessly. If there's an actual camera here he's going to have so many questions, but also.

What if this is trapped... You can't be too careful on murder islands...]

[ zelkov just gives him a nod that can feasibly pass as a you're welcome.

he'll wave the knife blade in front of the light first just to make sure it's not, like, going to vaporize whatever gets in its way. ]

See if you can find any sort of crack or anything else out of place in the wall.

[ though if that doesn't yield any results... he'll go ahead and touch it with the knife handle, i guess?? is it a button??? ]

[He can do that! It can't be that hard to look at some weird rocks and find cracks or crevices or... whatever.

He's also looking for anything that seems oddly reflective, like a lens. This could be the worst hidden camera reality show in all universes.]

wrong genre. Waving the knife and looking for anything that's reflective doesn't yield any results, but prodding it with the knife handle does. The rock shifts immediately drawing down into the ground, revealing a short passage that looks to open up into a small room from what Zelkov and Haruka can see where they're standing.

A robotic voice also chimes out from the bedrock. ]

DOOR LOCK DISENGAGED. WELCOME TO OUTPOST K4. HAVE A PRODUCTIVE WORKDAY!

[ ...well at least he's been surrounded by robots enough here that the random disembodied voice isn't THAT shocking to his ye olde ass, but. hm. he squints, peering inside. ]

Some sort of maintenance route, perhaps...?

[ before going in, are there any loose rocks or anything that can be picked up here that could be used to keep the door jammed open just in case? ]

I get the feeling this isn't just for maintenance.

[Outpost K4? Hm. Surely that doesn't mean anything of significance.

He's not going to step in completely until they find a way to keep the door opened, because getting trapped in some weird mysterious backroom is exactly what would happen to him if this were a drama, but he's scooting in close and leaning over the threshold. Exactly how well lit is this mystery room, anyways?]

[ Thankfully there are some loose rocks they can stack to keep the door from closing in on them wouldn't it be funny if they were trapped in here for curfew. When Haruka scoots in closer, lights flicker on overheard to illuminate Outpost K4 properly.

Largely it looks half like an office, half like a lab with equipment that's not identifiable from this distance. Also, the beeping has stopped! Yay! ]

[Yeah, he's leaving the lab side for Zelkov to check out.

Are there any computers in the office - and how modern do they look if there are any? Please let there be computers so he doesn't have to rifle through filing cabinets because he can't not take this time to snoop.]

[ Hallelujah there will be no filing today because there is a computer, sitting on a desk (no drawers) with a printer right besides it. Just to set the ambiance a little, there's also a few, motivational posters on the wall.

This computer also looks more modern than anything else Haruka's seen on the island, we're in the 2010's instead of the 2000's, nice. Currently the computer has a screensaver of you guessed it, bouncing birds ala the bubbles screensaver, and the printer has a torn sheet of paper hanging off. ]

[Noting down that Haruka thinks those posters are cringe.

Also, going to grab that paper first - or however much is left of it. Does it look like it was torn by someone pulling it from the printer? He'll be looking it over and pocketing it anyways, and then waking up the computer.

[Synchronization…? Fascinating. He has absolutely no idea what all of this means together, beyond “there’s also a fucked up experiment happening”. Maybe something to pester Shigaraki-san about later.

In the mean time, yes, he absolutely wants to continue! Also, are there any knickknacks on the desk? Or anything to write with, even if there’s no desks to snoop through.]

RESULTS: An inorganic object weighing 850g was retrieved. Object suffered from heavy oxidization.

[Of course he’s printing this report. He needs all the Evidence Of Wild Shit he can get so he can give it to someone who’ll actually theorycraft with all of this. If he can get the picture, too, that’s going to get printed despite the trash quality.

Then onto, presumably, report 2/3. I’m so sorry but he’s gotta get everything he can from this computer.]

[ that actually would be very funny but ALAS, the door is now propped open, so they are ostensibly safe (??)

zelkov will cautiously look around the room for any sign of movement or imminent danger, holding his arm out in front of haruka until he's judged it to be clear enough... and then he'll quietly head over toward the lab side of the room.

what are we noticing right off the bat over here? is there any kind of barrier to the equipment and everything or is it just all right there within reach? ]

There's no signs of movement or danger, thankfully. Right off the bat he'll see his own set of posters on the wall. There's no barriers to the equipment of which there seems to be two main pieces:

One, a kind of metal pad on the floor with a screen backlit against the wall (current blank). It honestly looks like this but this mod promises you this isn't Among Us/Convive.

The second piece of equipment looks like some kind of centrifuge looking equipment, but it doesn't match up with that exactly. There's also a small table here, with a cube resting on it.

And just to note, there's a kittybot in here against the corner but it looks to be shut down. ]

let's be obnoxious and start with the one thing that wasn't bolded, what does this cube on the table look like? is there anything else on the table or Just Cube? ]

[ Obnoxious, I like it.

It's a black opaque cube about slightly larger than a rubix cube with no markings or anything else written on it from what Zelkov can see. On the table is a couple of empty vials, a few packages of cotton swabs (the sterilized sealed kind), and a pen. ]

[ so it's just black and smooth on all sides? he'll tentatively pick it up to check the underside too.

do the vials look like, never-filled empty, or like they've been used? any visible residue or anything? ]

[ As soon as Zelkov picks up the cube, the sides of it retreat kind of like the rock wall actually, just faster. Inside the cube is.... a round, purple, ball. It kind of looks like a grape actually? If a grape was more opaque and slime consistency.

It's wobbling. And it's immediately moving like it's possessed in Zelkov's direction. Think speed of a gunshot, or close thereabout.

Mentioning here because he probably saw before grapes happened, but all the vials look unused except one. ]

[ god i made a choice starting with this cube

well since avoidance is his specialty and he's already kind of dressed like he's in the matrix he will do a SICK DODGE MOVE here, it's fine. also this is the moment where i realize i did not icon any fighting moves. ]

[ a shouted warning to haruka just in case it's headed in his direction after being dodged?? HOPEFULLY NOT? ]

[ There is Haruka doing his best as an office lady and some renegade mutated grape goes flying at him? In some universe at least, because the purple glob whizzes by Zelkov to stick securely on the poster (right on the guy's face naturally) behind him with a loud smack and then goes still. ]

okay, he'll go over and look at the glob for a second now that it's hopefully out of commission for the moment. did it like, go splat, or is it still round but just stuck on? anything to note about its appearance when it's sitting still? does it smell like anything? ]
