Welcome to...

Well, this ain't the islands anymore. You might see pieces of the island, a go-kart floating in the distance, the waterfall flowing upside down, a giant lollipop, all floating in what's similar to a nebula in space. Actually, it's closer to the void you've all grown to know so well over the weeks.

Fret not because the air here is breathable even if the landscape defies physics. Scattered throughout the "land" are shadowy portals, each leading to all of your homeworlds, at the exact time you had left off. Manipulating space-time is convenient like that.

Your u-pinions somehow, have survived, and they'll continue to function as an intranet between all of you. Oh, and everyone will gain the power to return to this space whenever they'd like and utilize the portals as they wish.

Your vacation is finally over, but this doesn't have to be goodbye.

[ Ah, did she embarrass him? Maybe he's a little like Merlin and earnest praise is his weakness. ]

I don't think it's flattery to tell a friend what you like about them... but that's fine. [ She laughs too. ] Who said that?! We wouldn't let that happen to you.

[ Who does she get to be indignant at on Magolor's behalf, point her at them. ]

[ Ah, she can't help but laugh at that. That confidence is almost certainly something Medea likes about her, too. ]

You're right. I've always been thinking of her as invincible... I really wish I could watch.

[ The fact that she'd already said her goodbyes as best she could doesn't mean it doesn't still sting a little now. Having to send Waltaquin off like this unknowing, and with no way to visit without making the situation more volatile...

How has she been getting by the past week? Wait and hope. She deposits the ring lightly in Waltaquin's hand and then twines their fingers together, holding on with the ring between their palms. She's opening her mouth to answer when that word strikes her, stealing her breath.

A promise, from Waltaquin. Her grip tightens just a little as she fights the painful constriction in her chest. ]

I could never, never forget you. Even without a physical reminder. I promise, too. But... I'll be waiting.

[It's a question she was meant to keep a secret. Something John told her to never confess. But John isn't here. And if he were, she would show him her love by removing his head from his shoulders.]

A beautiful blue and green and golden rock. A mass of life, a mass of love, in every beautiful root and every wonderful tree and every walking piece of meat. But I was abandoned by my children. I was left to die, after they had poisoned my blue, after they had devastated my green, pumped my blood and bones from their machines.

And then the bombs fell, and the one I appointed to save me murdered me. Destroyed every instance of life and love in the pursuit of his hatred.

Wh-when he told us he needed everyone's bodies a-and didn't get them all, he just ran away!

[For once she doesn't reject it - any attention seems to be fine by her, for the moment at least.]

Wh-where are we, anyway?

What? That sounds sooo dirty!

[He nods, both to do as Beelzebub instructed and as an answer to his question. He holds his hand up and tips his head to listen closely to the incantation.]

All right. Let's give this a go.

[He takes a breath, then closes his eyes as if he's about to recite a prayer. There won't be any more of those from now on, though. At least, not to the Sacred Flame.]

Hear me, denizens of darkness, you who are born of shadow and you who give birth to it.

Hear me and do as I command!

[He wonders, as he recites these lines for himself, how similar the rite to bring forth the Shadow sounded. The one who performed that rite and so desperately wanted Temenos to join their side... They would certainly be laughing at this perceived hypocrisy now.]

I, Temenos Mistral, call upon you to send forth one of your number!

[Such concerns are chased away from his mind as he thinks of his newly formed pact, and the warmth he can feel growing within as the magic courses through his veins. While he has gained new power, he didn't seek it out to further his own ends. He gained this power because it was entrusted to him by the one he loves. This is a power he intends to walk beside for the remainder of his life.]

I summon the Avatar of Gluttony, Beelzebub!

[The circle of incantation starts to form in front of Temenos as soon as the first sentence is finished. A containment, a request to the depths of hell, earning a shivering call back, echoing and challenging his power. Who is he to take ownership? Who he is he to ask for request of the demonic?

But as he continues, it solidifies into something more secure, something that tugs on the line of that pact as he gives his name, gives Beelzebub's, confirms an agreement that can't be broken. He'll feel that touch dissipate from his shoulder as that energy peaks at his side, where the demon promptly vanishes into thin air.

A moment later, he reappears in another flash of energy with his back to Temenos in the center of the incantation circle, wings vibrating as he regains his bearings.

He turns back to Temenos with a grin.]

Easy as pie.

[ Best result for the miracle of the dead being revived, specifically. Shigaraki surviving is absolutely independent of that, is what he'd say, aha. He can quite frankly kiss his ass.

As for keeping cool...well. Merlin in his thousands of years of living isn't the type to lose it real easy. Perhaps that is a good thing for the group as a whole, because otherwise a ton of arguments might have resulted on a certain subject (take a guess.) ]

Oh, of course not. I had to make sure people would believe in me for a long while so they'd keep their heads on straight. Both with the living and those who had temporarily passed.

[ Though there was a moment in the Garden where he kind of fucked up. He's going to just...kind of skip over that if he can though, thanks. ]

Anyway, I'm happy you guys did manage it. I had faith you'd all make your own way.

As for me, I did promise Zelkov I would stay by his side and all that. It'd be kind of embarrassing if I was like, 'Oh hey I actually change my mind, gotta go after all, byeeee' after everything, you know? But of course, I'll also do a check in of sorts, just in case.

[ ...and so that's how she learns the gossip. ]

[It's quite the sight to behold, watching Beelzebub reappear in front of him with a flash. It's the perfect confirmation that their pact holds, no matter how far away from the Devildom they are.

He laughs, pleased by his success.]

I imagine that must be a bit disorienting if you're not expecting it. I'll try to use it sparingly. I wouldn't want you getting annoyed with me for calling upon you for simple company.

Mn. I don't get a warning. For me, it just happens outside of my control.

[He easily lets his demon form fall away to his more casual appearance as the circle dies down, returning to Temenos's side.]

It looks like the U-PINION things might still work, though. You could always make sure I'm not in the middle of a meal if you just want to spend some together.

You can also give orders to me like this, if you need to. I don't know if you'd need to... but the only other human I'm in a pact with has used commands before to stop me in my tracks.

[ nooooo... not the earnest praise... his weakness... ]

You're probably giving me too much credit, that's all. [ chirped out. ] But by all means, feel free to praise me more!

[ and hmmm. technically crea did specify 'if it was 6 weeks ago,' so does he really deserve this?

[ Wang Lu had some sick moves in that final battle. It's hard for Merlin to say that the person who taught him would be unable to ensure more would be able to follow in his steps.

Besides, of course, how he thinks how that knowledge will be absorbed by these (new) students. ]

Of course, like everything, it'll probably take awhile to make progress in that new 'cultivating' style, but neither single one of you ever struck me as slow learners.

[ Her eyes soften at that, less fae than usual. ]

Yeah, thanks. It was fun to talk with you, you know? [ A beat. ] But there's no need to gloss over what I did.

[ It's not she ever thought it was a surprising take? Reasonable, if ill-timed. But she appreciates the gesture behind his words. ]

Oh, they might...? [He reaches into his pocket to retrieve his. Sure enough!] Ah, so they do. Fantastic idea, dear Beel.

[How is he even going to explain his U-PINION to literally anyone from his world? He'll just have to keep it a secret for the time being.

(This will work for maybe 20 minutes until Throné steals it from him.)

Orders, though... His lips curl into a playful smirk.]

I can't imagine I will, save for a bit of fun. [He didn't form a pact to control Beel or anything.] Is your other pactbearer one of the humans you've told me about before?

Yeah. Yuki, our transfer student.

[It's odd to talk about them so eagerly. When was it that they became a part of the family, nearly as important as his siblings? He's not sure.]

They risked themselves to save my life. I felt I owed them something for doing what they did... and they asked for a pact, so that they could get Lucifer to respect them enough to help smooth things over with Belphie.

Or, well... that's mostly the truth.

[Things had come to light not to long ago to shift that a bit... and not everyone had taken it well. Beel can imagine Asmodeous probably sulking in a bathroom somewhere.]

But it doesn't matter at this point. I still trust them a lot. And they really helped get Belphie back somehow.

[ Moravia responds by leaning in as well, just like before. Part of her mind thinks of Hyuga's garden, and some plants in particular that are grafted. Applying that here feels...uneasy. She exhales at the thought. ]

Yeah, nothing's worth losing your sense of self over. You're Tomura Shigaraki, and you have your own goals. It should be all you.

[ He's not his Master or anyone else. Just like how she's ultimately different from the Takanashis. That's part of what makes them them. ]

[ he's seen that sort of thing before. drunk on their power and egoism, no amount of calculations would stop the villain from pursuing the fight to its bitter end, even when there's a dozen better options to take.

...though that thought does make crea pause momentarily, realizing that it might be applicable to the situation back home.

Maybe things were supposed to be this stereotypical. The good guys beat the crazy bad guy, save the day, and live happily ever after.

Heh. I like the sound of them already.

[From what Temenos knows of the situation, obviously things haven't been smoothed over just yet, but that's still a goal he can respect. And it goes without saying that them wanting to protect Beelzebub puts them high in his estimations.]

I should like to meet them at some point as well.

[ he tilts his head, but what he's most concerned about is... ]

How'd he end up in your care, then? Did he follow you?

I can't guarantee they'll be here when we reunite. Their exchange trip ends at the end of the year. But... I'll tell them about you.

Nona... I took him for lots of walks. It was part of my job. I had little that anyone would entrust to me so I took it very seriously. It was my way of feeling like I mattered.

A place of gates. Portals, I believe. They will take us to the worlds we were taken.
