Throughout your time on the island, there's been a steady rhythm; the murders, the trials, the executions, the clean-up afterwards that leave just up remnants for you to remember what was lost. This Monday morning though, things are different. The debris and any biohazards are cleared, but no effort has been made to repair the games at the arcade, or to restock the chemicals and damaged equipment at the laboratory.

Odd.

If you cast your eyes to the sky, you'll also notice that the distortion is also lingering—there's certainly less of it at least, a haze still lingering over the go-karts, one whirlpool lingering out in the sea. It could be worse, surely.

Though there's no new locations for you to take your mind off of all these oddities either. In fact, looking at your device to access the resort map area and scrolling past Kakapo's Nest triggers an error.

There’s one more, slightly more eclectic change: the kittybots, instead of having cute kitty ears and faces, are now without exception round-headed. This would make them look like ordinary robots, but their heads actually now look like a bowl of fish swimming, which occasionally form up into expressions. A change of pace for everything, it seems.

[ She offers over the bag for inspection! It's... a sort of haphazard selection of soda and juice and water. Also some doritos. ]

I don't think the energy drinks would be a good idea for me right now.

You're right about that. So, there's no point in arguing.

[ He'll peek at the bag and pull out a juice. Uncapping it and offering it to her. ]

I still would like to see you on a few of them, but once you're better.

[ She laughs and takes the juice to sip. Is this hers now, or is he stealing it back? ]

You don't think I'm energetic enough as it is?

[ She can hold on to it for a moment because he's scooting around behind her to start rubbing her shoulders. ]

I do like your energy normally, but imagine you hyper. We could get a certain someone even faster.

That almost feels a little unfair. But I think we should anyway.

[ She glances back in surprise but leans into his hands. ]

You weren't lying about this being a draw, were you?

Like he wouldn't do the same if he could.

[ The elbow gets a grin as he leans into the hair pet. Then he'll wrap his arms around her ]

The things you say... [ Clicking his tongue. ] I simply meant for you to swim in, but it sounds like you're implying something indecent.

[ She snuggles herself against him and glances around. No witnesses? It's not being improper if there are no witnesses (citation needed). ]

Does it? Are you sure that's not your imagination? You and Wei Wuxian have been making me change my clothes all the time for weeks.

[ For Xiao bullying crimes. ]

[ Maybe people are avoiding the beach for salad crimes. ]

Might be fun to see, but I'll hold off until you can partake.

[ He'll be good and not go any further than this. ]

Might be a little bit of my imagination but I am holding you accountable. You inspire quite a bit of it.

[ Clearly it should be threatening that she's turning in his arms to wrap her arm around his waist and settle close. ]

[ So threatening! He'll enjoy it for a bit. It's a shame about all the murder and what transpired earlier, because this would have been quite romantic. ]

[ Settling his palms carefully on her to not accidentally tickle. ]

It's easier to catch people by surprise if they don't think you take anything seriously. It's also much more enjoyable this way.

[ She knew it. She grins up at him unrepentantly and reaches up to wind her arms around his neck. ]

Maybe we're a little alike after all. People are more honest in front of me when they think I'm silly and fragile. [ A pause. ] And it really would be exhausting to be serious all the time, wouldn't it?

[chosenwang]

[ It's funny how certain words can send a warm feeling fluttering in your chest. He will smile warmly at that and press a kiss against her cheek. ]

I think we're more than a little alike. We did wind up falling for the same guy. [ He won't expose what else that may overlap. Not out here where any one can overhear. ] It can be very exhausting, especially when people have expectations of you.

[ ...Is one thing they could call it. She tilts her face up into that cheek kiss with a grin. ]

It must be a little hard, being the star disciple of your sect.
