Execution

Like always, no one is forced to assemble on the sandbar for execution, but given the verdict of yesterday you might feel obliged to follow the kittybots for various reasons. Things have been cleared up since the mess of trial, as always, though no amount of effort can block out the continued muted wailing of the warped whirlpools over the waves -- they sound a bit closer, now, in fact. The shimmer of the phenomenon is visible from Seagull's Playground, too, as though peeking whimsically over the horizon at the fruits of its own labor.

And those fruits are quite visible, in the form of two figures paraded out in front of everyone once again, down in the bowl of the amphitheater.

The administrators are present as usual, as are the sundry kittybots with snacks; this week they're offering cute cookies perhaps (in)appropriately themed. And of course there's milk, because you can't serve cookies without them.

(( OOC: Executions are voluntary except for the executed and executioner. The path back to the island will also remain for the entirety of the execution, so characters may leave whenever they wish as well.))

[ crea's at the sandbar, hood raised over his head as he tries to go as unnoticed as possible. his eyes widen slightly when he recognizes the charm that's hanging from beel's neck, but shows otherwise no expression as he continues to watch. ]

[ and when he sees temenos as the executioner, crea's expression doesn't change outwardly, aside from a slight lean forward that might even be considered as out of concern for both parties. he figured that this would be the case.

[ Lacus is sticking to the very corner of the group today, trying not to get too close to anybody. Unlike yesterday, she no longer looks angry - just sad.

For all that she feels disdain towards Beelzebub, she takes no joy in his death. She's only here because it would be unfair not to be. After all, she took part in condemning him.

When the executioner is revealed, her face just falls even further. In her lap, her hands are clasped tightly. ]

[Haruka doesn’t usually show up to these things, finding them a morbid spectacle that just serves to make everyone feel worse… but it’s Beel. He’s closer to Beel then any of the others they set to death, though he couldn’t bring himself to vote for Beelzebub anyways.

Still, seeing Temenos across from Beel… of course. Of course it’s him. Why wouldn’t it be?]

[ And I'm glad you've been so levelheaded through everything.

Normally he is motionless upon the beach when these executions happen, despite always wanting to rush in and stop it. He knows how cut scenes work, and there is no hope of stopping them once they stop. Last week even proved what will happen if you try to interrupt.

But seeing who was opposite of Beelzebub sent a spike of ice through his veins. ]

Time out! Switch with me! [ Hello? Hosts??? ] Let me take his place! [ He even makes his sword grow to it's normal size. ] Switch!

[ And who is here to grab the back of Wang Lu’s robes to hold him back from potentially trying to physically intervene? It’s Wei Wuxian. ]

You know they aren’t going to allow that.

[ He's grabbed, and he points to the pair. ]

I can't let him do that!

[There's a brief glance from Overhaul, though the majority of his attention is still on the two getting rowdier out there.]

... This isn't a relay race.

[That's all he says, though.]

[Of course not. This is all a spectacle to them, as far as Shuda can tell... the more dramatic, the better.]

Honestly, for a couple of guys just trying to make sure enough people die every week, they sure do seem to like going for spectacle.

[ After the events of yesterday, Xiao is looking much worse for wear. He's here, though, at the execution, standing very far back. His eyes are heavy as he watches the scene unfold in front of him. Maybe he should have stayed back, but it's too late, now. He has to be here, for Beel, for Crea...despite the very minute traces of a black aura surrounding him.

When he sees who steps forward to finish Beelzebub off, Xiao isn't even remotely surprised. Of course it'd be Temenos. Of course. ]

This isn’t the first time he’s seen that black aura, faint as it may be, around Xiao, so Haruka immediately knows what it is.

He knows there’s a very real, physical danger to himself if he goes up to Xiao right now, so he stays where he’s seated even if he does shoot Xiao a concerned look.]

[ His eyes flicker upwards and he looks at Haruka. He tries to change his expression to something reassuring, something that will tell Haruka that he'll be fine...but it doesn't amount to much. There's only a ghost of a smile on his face before he flinches again. ]

[ Moravia stands nearby the other alive Toucans, as she usually does. But this time Moravia does slowly munch on the refreshment cookies offered. Alice always did have no problem eating even during these. Something about the thought keeps her chewing.

Maybe Athos would care for some of these later? Another mundane thought, but one she idly chases in her mind despite what's about to happen. ]

[ And once she sees the two rush towards the administrators, she can't help but laugh at the sight. So that's their choice. ]

Waltaquin is very still and quiet. For the moment there is no sign of her customary laugh.]

Not necessarily. Love doesn't just end once one of them dies.

[ keeping his sickos mode behind his calm demeanor, crea shakes his head. ]

Love can continue even once the object of your adoration is six feet under. It can stay forever, burning away until it drives you mad.

He's standing off to the back as he usually does, but the moment Temenos walks out, his hand instinctively moves to the hilt of a sword that's no longer there, and he scowls, his expression radiating a very evident anger.
