TRIAL

You all know the drill by now even if things are a little different today, with the two deceased and the shuffling of the announcements. Things are much the same at the sandbar though, kittybots setting out seafood as the theme for this week, along with every flavor of mountain dew under the sun, including the energy drink kind. (food mod note: this is actually on brand MTN dew for once!).

Off to the side in a booth of their own are the bodies as well as attendant kittybots; simply request which body you'd like to look at and the kitty bots will direct you appropriately, as if it's difficult to tell the difference between a squid and a giant robot. Maybe they're just there trying to be helpful, they're doing their best. .

(( OOC: Welcome to your third trial! You'll have 7 hours (8PM EST/5PM PST) to vote one (1) person guilty of murder. Since this is scapegoat style, finding the correct killer is not mandatory!

Skywarp body

So I was the one that looked at Skywarp's corpse. I'm not the best with machines, but I'll do my best to explain it to ya'll.

[ sometimes you are a transplant from 2000 years in the past and that makes things a little awkward at best. regardless, he clears his throat, and starts explaining what he saw. ]

We found Skywarp sitting on a seat like a king on a throne. No, seriously. He had his chin rested on his palm, and whatever remained of one of his legs propped up on an armrest. He was also wearing a crown and a planet themed cape, which I've brought with me...

[ he'll place both things down for people to view. ]

All around him were miniature planet models and I'm gonna guess that's from the planetarium gift shop. [ he says that with a mild annoyance. so his trap didn't work as well as he thought it did. bummer. ]

As for the state of the body, he was missing both feet, aka his harpoon prosthetics and his remaining foot. They had these kind of diagonal slashes, that kind of looked like the person who ripped it off had to put a lot of effort to do so-- makes sense, since he was made out of metal.

[ shrugs. ]

The front and side of his torso and head had a bunch of holes on them. They're not that big, they're kind of like puncture wounds. The ones on the front torso looked like they were the deepest? And on the back of his head there were some cracks that look like they were almost going to be exit wounds. The holes, by the way, had this weird blue substance that I guess was like its blood. Oil, maybe? I think that's what cars use, at least.

On top of that, his joints and some random parts of his body had this transparent liquid. It looked and felt like water, but the smell of it was kind of fishy. I've got no idea if its a chemical or if he just had a fight with a school of fish.

The crown was left at the planetarium. I brought it with me to see if anyone wanted it. [ Looks like someone did ]

Sounds like someone made him the center of the galaxy.

You don't think that he dragged himself there somehow? I dunno, I had a hard time just moving him, I can't imagine dragging deadweight like that and positioning him to my liking.

I don't want to make assumptions until we know more, but it would be very on brand of him to die his won way and taking that away from his killer.

However, that seems quite a lot of prep work for him if he was on death's door. So he may have had help from his killer if he did help with his own staging.

I want to say that it sounds insane, but I have a feeling that Skywarp was actually insane enough to do something like that.

[plunges]

I would not put it past him, either.

He would want it his own death to stand out against the others. Or his killer was actually fond of him.

If he didn't help, then maybe his killer is just really dramatic.

His foot and prosthetic were both at the waterfall. That pond has fish in it.

Well. It has less fish in it today. But it used to have fish in it.

... Did you eat the fish?

They were tasty.

[ SIGHS. ]

Did it have a normal amount of fish before you ate them?!

Oh, he was quite through, don't worry. I was rather impressed.

[gluttoning]

Yeah. I checked the bottom of the pool and everything. The harpoon and the metal bits were all I really found out of place. And I got hungry from swimming.

[And coming back here now that he's confirmed it:]

I checked. The liquid is just the water from the waterfall pool. Smells exactly the same.

So is it possible that he fell from the waterfall after he lost his leg and then was dragged to the theater?

[gluttoning]

His foot was in the top of the refreshment hut roof, so either it came off up there and fell, or maybe someone sliced it off mid-air.

Maybe that's why there's so much damage to the rock? If it wasn't just Skywarp, but also whatever cut off his foot.

An aerial battle? That's intense.

[ damn, he's almost impressed?? ]

Maybe we should start comparing weapons against the cut? I feel you can't do that with a simple knife.

Honestly, if it seemed like they had to work to cut it off, wouldn't the weapon used to do it also show signs of like, use or wear on it?

[ some folks take especially good care of their weapons for a reason, right? ]

Might be something to check?

I would say that it's a good thing to keep in mind! Especially since we're basically throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.
