WEEK 4
WEEK FOUR
24 Vacationers
What started with a week promising relaxation turned into something else entirely. It might be nice to try to grab a quiet moment after the whirlwind of the weekend, but there's something to be said about keeping up the momentum too.The island open to you this week, Dodo's Outlook, seems to have that in mind, or at the very least, keeping your mind occupied. All damage to the island buildings has been fixed by Monday morning at least, but noticeably there are less palm trees than before where the damage was the heaviest. Explorers too will find that the area behind the waterfall has been completely sealed off with solid rock.
Whether you're the type to commune with the nature of marine life in the aquarium, the cosmos in the planetarium, or to spin your own tale in the theater, there's plenty to do and enjoy. As always there's task to complete too, and after all you've been through by now, what's a little more bonding in the pursuit of prizes?

Even this, and even murder, after all these weeks.
The only thing that has claimed lives so far is community sanction. Surely, it will be more of the same.
As always, it's hard to see the distortion when it doesn't appear on the main island -- instead, anyone leaving the main island will find themselves confronted with the warped reflections of the sun and the horizon, stretching as always across the empty water. The waves seem higher and more erratic than usual, sometimes washing across the bridge and spraying any strollers to the tune of strange low static noise. Even with the power of the midday haze, there is no way to spot the other islands nor what you'd be walking into. The haze stretches lazily across the railway tracks at one point and sways across the water, reaching almost to Seagull's Playground like it's grasping at the island with slow fingers.
Perhaps you should worry more about Dodo's Outlook, though, where the sound of the distortion itself is drowned out by a very real rumble from beneath your feet, the sound of glass splintering. The aquarium has lost a corner to a warped tendril stretching out of the ocean, like something wanted to free some fish, perhaps; but all that can be seen now is a wash of water down the bluffs and the occasional sad flopping tropical thing.
As always, it's a good idea to keep an eye out, but the distortion -- while seemingly getting bigger in scale -- is still spreading rather slowly the way it did in previous weeks.]

So while she's over on Dodo's Outlook setting up the planetarium, Waltaquin does take a detour toward the haze of distortion. She's mostly drawn to watch the fish flop around helplessly, expressionless. Presumably there's nothing weird about the fish except the part where they are out of their element and dying, but she will look closely at them nonetheless.]
cw: mild fish gore
Nevertheless, the fish themselves are still fish -- they have not mutated into grape monstrosity fish or anything, rest assured! Still, while she'll notice that the live fish are normal, the ones that are already dead show signs of having been caught in something forceful, which stretched and squeezed bodies and snapped skeletons. Maybe it's just because they're fish, and therefore relatively fragile, but it's still a little unfortunate.]

Presuming that nothing happens with the twisty fish when she tries to pick one up (in a towel, not with her hands) and that nothing else more is readily apparent, she'll be keeping this for closer examination!]
