What started with a week promising relaxation turned into something else entirely. It might be nice to try to grab a quiet moment after the whirlwind of the weekend, but there's something to be said about keeping up the momentum too.The island open to you this week, Dodo's Outlook, seems to have that in mind, or at the very least, keeping your mind occupied. All damage to the island buildings has been fixed by Monday morning at least, but noticeably there are less palm trees than before where the damage was the heaviest. Explorers too will find that the area behind the waterfall has been completely sealed off with solid rock.

Whether you're the type to commune with the nature of marine life in the aquarium, the cosmos in the planetarium, or to spin your own tale in the theater, there's plenty to do and enjoy. As always there's task to complete too, and after all you've been through by now, what's a little more bonding in the pursuit of prizes?

I spent my morning as usual taking a walk around the islands, and then attended the meeting. Wang Lu and I spent the rest of the night at the bar afterwards.

I will continue to look into this. In the meantime, I suggest getting as much rest as you can. We should also have Baizhu look at you at some point...

[Hello hello, excuse him for apparently missing the initial fun. He’s been summoned now though, and he’s always ready for house calls.

Whichever position Wei Wuxian finds himself in currently, Baizhu will kneel next to him to help assess the damage.]

I heard you’ve had an eventful morning—-coughing blood and a black tongue, and mention of poison…?

[Baizhu will indeed see all the reported symptoms -- the traces of coughing blood and nosebleed, the dark tongue, as well as pallor and some sweating.

The doctor is in the house! Feel free to look closer.]

[So!! How about some non-magic diagnostics to start us out! Any signs of fever, dehydration, discoloration of the eyes, pain and/or numbness, snake/animal bites, cuts, skin bruises easily, things that might show it’s an illness or might have obviously caused a non-ingested poisoning case? Residue from plants he could reasonably have seen before, in a book here or prior?]

[Baizhu can spot some signs of dehydration (dry lips, sunken eyes), but there doesn't appear to be any fever. The eyes are not discolored, but may not be entirely focused. There's no evidence of bites, significant cuts or bruising, though he can tell that the patient is breathing faster than usual and overall is somewhat shaky.

As for signs of pain, that's pretty evident when coughing occurs. He will not discover plant residue.]

[well, dehydration could potentially be from blood loss or the alcohol consumption, though those don’t rule out that it could a sign of whatever potential poisoning this is as well.

How’s his heart rate? Baizhu is going to get cozy and listen to his lungs too, might as well double check before he tries less mundane options.]

[Always a good idea to get right up in there when the patient isn’t a corpse! His heart rate is fast and his poor lungs are in about as bad a shape as you’d expect for somebody who’s been continuously coughing up blood.]

Other attempts at magically healing made it worse from what he was told, but perhaps the next course of action would be a slow application of Dendro, and seeing if that was agreeable? Or it could give Baizhu a better idea on what to check next at least. He obviously doesn’t exactly have his whole pharmacy here to work with.]

The smallest applications of Dendro healing won't return too much effect, but he'll notice that the healing itself is less than it should be. This is true for all applications of healing, and by the time he ramps up a bit more, the nosebleed will start again, slow or abruptly depending on how fast he's increasing the magic.]

So all/most healing on the lungs causes increased bleeding, and it’s proportional to how much is applied… It was also harder than usual to apply, even taking into account that it’s slower in this place than home.

Dehydration, no fever, pallor, tremors, high heart rate, trouble breathing… and there’s no sign of injections, or powder/residue along his eyes/nostrils/mouth? Nothing on his clothes, in his shoes? An aerosol could easily target the lungs…

He might get a little handsy WWX but when all else fails!!! It’s time to be thorough.]

And hey, some skinship is sometimes what the Dr. ordered. Baizhu will notice since he's getting all up in there, that his tongue in addition to being black is dry and rough too. ]

[Are there any other suspicious patches on Wei Wuxian, discolored, distextured, or dried out? Anything in the rest of his mouth— inner cheeks, under the tongue, roof of the mouth, back of the throat? Or is it only focused on the top?]
