WEEK 3 INVESTIGATION
INVESTIGATION
Good morning, sunshines, sungems, and wild partiers of the night! No matter what kind of night you had, you'll find yourself awakening to an energetic tune blasting out from the island speaker system, one that more than a few of you will recognize -- you won't be able to escape it, but why would you want to?
Music is a great way to start your day, and surely, this is a great omen for Fridays at this resort. There's at least one reason to get up dancing, as the wings of the warp phenomenon have vanished with the morning mist and the sea breeze; Kingfisher's Retreat boasts a beautiful, uninterrupted waterfall that reflects the morning sun once more, and the waves at Sungem's Peak are largely peaceful. Even the customary burst of sound and pressure was a little mollified by the addition of the new soundtrack. You know what that means by now, but hopefully the music will add a pep in your step. (( OOC: Welcome to your second investigation, we hope everyone is enjoying their DD refreshes ☆ ))

so is the missing sand from the sand holes just gone? no apparent mounds or piles or anything in the immediate area if they check the tree or shoreline? the mod comment states how wide they are but what about depth, i.e. how much sand is being thrown around here?
does the blood appear to make any particular trail? ]

In addition, the depth of these holes are 3-5 feet deep!
The blood does not make a particular trail, given its uneven spillage and placement. ]

wang lu has determined the feeties apparently head in the general direction of seagull's playground, which coincidentally matches the general mcfuckery along the shoreline; can magolor backtrace the other end back and see about where the mess started? the main resort maybe? if he approaches the... treeline? greenline? does anything become more apparent as he heads that way?
also more clarifying qs, there any particular pattern to how the sand holes are distributed, or do they appear scattered around at random? are they scattered across the entire length of the island stretching around because whew that sure is a long path for them to have taken considering it doesn't look like they cut through the middle of sungem? and how clean are the edges of these pockets anyway; is it a gentle slope down into the hole or is it like, jarringly abrupt and stuff? ]
no subject
The treeline towards the main resort is also not affected.
For the sandy unholey mess, Magolor can find this upon closer observation:
The sand holes are almost seemingly random in placement, though they're relatively close-by the feeties as well. In addition, the holes are going to be definitely clean. Perhaps as a result of the missing sand. They don't look like a gentle slope either; rather, more jarring in how they slope down. Definitely more abrupt. ]

given ibuki's dead goose and a toppled palm tree elsewhere, is there, uh, any other disturbed flora or fauna at any point along the path magolor's taking around the island? and if he looks out into the waves there's nothing bobbing there, yeah? ]
clarification: sand
Nothing else will be found within these holes, or anything like that.
Main resort has no other disturbances along the other the flora or fauna on the main resort path. Seems the deda goose was the outlier! ]

anyway sighs and takes pictures of these holes and sand piles like a tourist before making his way back to wang lu and the blood splatters
while he was taking a closer look at the holes did any indication of what might have made them stick out. is the sand slightly wet/clumping together, are there bits of melted 'glass', does it swirl in a circle or something, idk. ]

starbuckscoffee from the book cafe ]Huh. Those look like the ones on the bridge.

They really did a number on things, didn't they?
no subject
Wonder how they took out the roof, though.
[ because that roof sure is missing???? ]
no subject
[ roof. sand. 90% of the bridge chunks. ]
no subject
Unfortunately there's nothing else he can discern about the sand holes here. There are no melted glasses, and nothing more telling about the shape. ]
