The events of the past weekend, the past week, may linger on your mind as you awaken to the sun rising on your third week on Sungem's Peak. The rays of the sun are welcoming as always, and so are the amenities, and the new island— Kingfisher's Retreat.

The theme this week certainly seems to be relaxation and excitement, perhaps with a mind to distract all vacationers that your number has decreased by two. Or maybe you're the type to take a plunge in the name of your sacrificed vacationers? Either way, there's plenty of do, including more tasks for the objective minded.

Oh! Hello, Zelkov. Um... I haven't really decided yet. I think I finished the soup with Xiao's help [ A little gesture with her uninjured hand towards a simmering pot. ] but I was trying to think of something a little more surprising.

[ There's a pineapple on the cutting board. Step 2 of this plan is a mystery. ]

She curls her fingers a little and a golden light gathers around the injured hand. It's a small cut, she can definitely manage healing this much. ]

I'm just not very used to cooking... It's not all that different from handling a sword, but I'm still a little clumsy at that, too.

I don't think it's been good for much here. But I can handle this much, at least!

[ even if it's not really incorrect, the brightly-polished armor the word "knight" brings to mind is certainly a far cry from his layers of black. it feels entirely too foreign. ]

[ Ah... that's a little nostalgic, alright. Psyche gives a little nod of understanding. But at the next question, her whole expression brightens in determination. ]

That's right. Because Wei Wuxian startled me earlier. Though, honestly, I'm so inexperienced at cooking that anything I make without a recipe is likely to be surprising in a way I don't intend... but he said he's immune to spicy things, so I'm trying to think of strange combinations.

Ah... yes, he relayed his fondness for exceedingly spicy foods to me as well.

Do you desire to make a dish that is both spicy and surprising, then? Or simply something different, without the spice he usually favors?

Oh, do you think I could make something that's both? I'd like it if it's still something he'd enjoy. The first surprising things I thought of all sounded horrible, like putting fish on cupcakes.

[ WAIT. Realization strikes, and Psyche turns enormous hopeful puppy eyes Zelkov's way. ]

That's right! You know how to cook, too, don't you?

[ f...fish cupcakes......... he vaguely wonders if chloé would enjoy something like that, or if it would be crossing a line even for her. ]

I do. And I have often enjoyed experimenting with creating my own recipes when I've had the chance. I would happily offer my assistance in your efforts if you wish for it.

[ let this be his penance for scaring her ]

[ Her whole expression is just alight with excitement now. All ominous crimes are clearly forgiven. ]

Thank you! That would be such a help. There's going to be too much food for any of us, so... how about we make something you like, too?

[ She'll still owe him, but it's something. ]

There are not too many things I dislike, so that should not be a problem.

[ ...unfortunately most of the things he does dislike are creative spicy things, but this isn't about him, so he can pretend to like them if he needs to! ]

One of our allies back home is quite partial to peach sorbet with a spicy chili sauce. I'm sure we could do something similar with the pineapple if that was what you were wanting to use.

[ though he's not like... super excited about it, personally... hm. ]

...If I recall correctly he also likes pork, correct? Perhaps if we wrapped chunks of fresh pineapple in strips of bacon and then added a chili sauce with ginger on top...

Hm... that does sound surprising. And I do like sweets...

[ But this is about her twofold audience here; she's watching Zelkov's expression thoughtfully... and then he says the magic words. She nods enthusiastically at the next idea. ]

Oh! I think we should do that one. I have the ginger around here, too! I'm sure he hasn't tried something like that before. Is that something you just invented?

[ Magic... astounding. ]

[ he smiles, glad to see that she seems enthusiastic about it. ]

I doubt I am the first to suggest something along those lines — there are plenty of dishes in which pork is complemented by the sweetness of fruit — but it is not a recipe I've encountered before.

Considering each ingredient's individual flavor profile, though, I think it might be a promising combination. If you are ready to give it a try, so am I.

I'm ready! I don't really have any experience cooking, but I can take directions. Thank you for teaching me, Zelkov.
