The events of the past weekend, the past week, may linger on your mind as you awaken to the sun rising on your third week on Sungem's Peak. The rays of the sun are welcoming as always, and so are the amenities, and the new island— Kingfisher's Retreat.

The theme this week certainly seems to be relaxation and excitement, perhaps with a mind to distract all vacationers that your number has decreased by two. Or maybe you're the type to take a plunge in the name of your sacrificed vacationers? Either way, there's plenty of do, including more tasks for the objective minded.

[ Happy Thursday! Did you have a good sleep? Maybe you're grabbing breakfast, or staring out into the ocean seeing if warp-chan will reappear on cue. Regardless of what you're doing, you'll hear an odd sound. A steady beeping, that although low at first, grows to a level that's annoying even if you lived right in the heart of Tokyo.

What's odder still is that it doesn't look like anyone else hears it? Following the source of it will lead you to the waterfall area. There you'll find one of your other vacationers, probably look as perplexed (and annoyed) as you are.

[ hmm. he will indeed follow, with a knife at the ready just in case!

which haruka probably isn't going to love seeing in his hand, but whatever. ]

You hear it as well?

[Against better judgement (and unarmed, which is probably a very bad idea), Haruka is also following the annoying beeping! Curiosity killed the idol, or whatever.]

That beeping? Yeah. It's super obnoxious.

[Also weird?? Why is there beeping now...]

There's a briefly long-suffering look in Temenos' direction, tinged with empathy, but otherwise he's politely looking away. Lobelia sure is Lobelia.]

[ Now that you're in the right area, the beeping is even louder. One could almost wonder if someone set off the non-existent fire alarms... there's no sign of fire or smoke at least, so it's probably fine?

It won't take you long at all to pinpoint the sound is coming from behind the waterfall because it's mandatory that things are always hidden there. Getting there to see what the source is probably requires some minor climbing (careful the rocks are slippery!) and you'll probably get just a little wet too.

Your discovery at first is a little uneventful, because the facade of rocks mostly just looks like well. Rocks. But there's not supposed to be a bright green flashing light at about torso height embedded in the wall, is there? ]

[ he has no idea what a fire alarm is. but he has very good ears, so he'll follow the source of the sound to behind the waterfall, which does indeed feel like a very jrpg place to hide something.

aside from getting unpleasantly damp, he has little trouble making it there to the light, though he does pause from up on the wall like an ibex craving that mineral to turn back to haruka again. ]

You needn't follow if you do not wish to. The rocks are quite slippery.

[ ...but if he does, he'll hold out a hand if he needs it. one without a knife in it. ]

yeah, probably. but now i'm thinking... does it always? what if a place doesn't get big enough for there to be an obvious divide?

I've always been able to tell how he's feeling. Even when we're apart. I can't feel that here.

But when I'm somewhere comfortable like this, I still hope that maybe he's taking a good nap because of it.

[If Haruka was even more of an idiot then he already is, he'd refuse to take Zelkov's hand, but he's not that dumb. Dumb enough to not turn around when it feels like they're walking into some big cliche, sure, but still!]

[Now on solid ground, the green light is pretty hard to notice. His first thought is of recording lights (even if those are, usually, red), but it means he's looking to Zelkov for permission and pointing to it wordlessly. If there's an actual camera here he's going to have so many questions, but also.

What if this is trapped... You can't be too careful on murder islands...]

I haven't considered it for them, but maybe that'll earn me points.

[ Maybe in exchange for that calling card he was promised by Ho-Oh. Regardless, he grins at Magalor as he turns to a fresh page in his notepad. ]

he'll wave the knife blade in front of the light first just to make sure it's not, like, going to vaporize whatever gets in its way. ]

See if you can find any sort of crack or anything else out of place in the wall.

[He can do that! It can't be that hard to look at some weird rocks and find cracks or crevices or... whatever.

He's also looking for anything that seems oddly reflective, like a lens. This could be the worst hidden camera reality show in all universes.]
