WEEK 2 INVESTIGATION
INVESTIGATION
The sun rises over sparkling waves and beaches -- and there are far more of them now, double the amount of sun and surf across the two unusual islands you've been forced to call home. Not that you were able to see the breaking dawn, given that you found yourself falling asleep at the stroke of midnight, regardless of how tired you were.
Your restful(?) sleep is brought to a sudden end at 7am with a booming whipcrack of sound; those on Seagull's Playground will hear it first, much louder than the karaoke windows shattering last night. Indeed, a window or two may crack in the arcade, but at least nothing else breaks as a new shockwave flashes out on that island. Those on Sungem's Peak will merely feel a stronger breeze and see some higher waves, but they'll certainly hear an echo of everything as they come to.
Given your sudden sleep and confinement (if you took notice in the midst of everything you were up to), it's understandably harder to keep track of your cabana-and-islandmates.
Now that you're very likely very awake -- perhaps it's time to take a look around outside, and see if this week brings better tidings than the last. (( OOC: Welcome to your first official investigation! This is similar to last week's peace week investigation: body discovery part comes first, free for all exploration for everyone until a body (or bodies) is found. Then we will move into the detailed investigation of body and locations! Good luck at Costco. ☆ ))

That said, he doesn't need to climb too far onto the greens (or is it pinks or rainbows, given the changing color of the course?) to see both the missing Go-kart and also what looks like a vaguely human shape tucked in where the concentration of gumballs is thickest. There might even be other candy and bizarre junk mixed in there.
Maybe somebody with a crazy sweet tooth just really wanted to go camping.]

Xiao approaches cautiously, frown deepening as he looks at the kart, and then at the human-shaped lump in the gum ball pile. He runs towards it. Someone might be in there, who may need his help.
Xiao will dig through the pile quickly to try and see who's underneath. ]

There’s everything but the kitchen sink contained in this microcosm of a cloyingly sweet golf course corner — debris from the Easter grass, dirt from the way here, pieces from the side of the golf course, bits of false candy, even a whole golf club — cradling the retired player at its center like the most cacophonous and uncomfortable nest (or junk heap) ever.
In life, he would guzzle just about anything and slap anything onto his trusty mechanical arm to give it a new purpose.
But in his current state, you’d be hard put to even extract him from the pile of misshapen goods around him.
Chai is dead.]

Xiao gets onto his feet. He'll turn and look for anyone else in the area, and should there be any other bystanders: ]
It's Chai. He's gone.
[ He'll leave the official announcement to the birds, this time. ]

Looks like a bloody wreck. Think someone took the lad on a joyride?

[ Poor Chai. He looks over at Billy as the other crouches to look at the body. ]
I will look at the surrounding area. Let me know if you need anything.
