Three dead, one vote. This might be a pit of a pickle, huh? Perhaps appropriately, the kittybots are serving pickles of all flavors today, along with food that might remind you of your childhood like ants on a log, gummy worm sundaes and adorable toast in sweet and savory profiles. To drink, are their best attempts at replicating the DD refreshers with a whole array of silly straws.

Off to the side in a booth of their own are the bodies as well as attendant kittybots (well two bodies and one arm); simply request which body you'd like to look at and the kitty bots will direct you appropriately, given the number of arms floating around. The kittybots continue to do their best.

While I will not discourage people from trying to piece together Beel's night, I do want to bring the focus to Zelkov's case with what time we have left.

What else haven't we checked for yet?

[ Lacus nods at this and turns her back to Beel entirely. People won't want to kill him - maybe that, at least, will direct their focus back to Zelkov. ]

We still don't know what oval object dented the cabinet.

It's something a bit larger than my fist, but smaller than a head. [ Or Lacus' head or Baizhu's head ]

It's also a little lower than where I would have landed a punch.

[ Truth be told, it's easier to focus on this than it is to dwell on Beelzebub any longer. ]

For what it's worth, I don't believe anything Wei Wuxian and I checked for could have made a dent in that shape, with that size.

A bit lower. [ From his memory and looking at pics ] I didn't measure it exactly at the time.

Considering Zelkov's height relative to yours, it would match him.

That might also explain the break, especially if someone cut his arm off while he was mid-swing. [ If he was powered up mid-swing and went punching and someone cut off the power... then he made contact with it and crushed his own hand ]

We're looking at anyone who can strengthen an object or have strength if they used the knife.

I don't think so. Have any of us ever seen Beelzebub wield a weapon here?

I think he'd be more likely to just grab and try to tear it off with his strength.

Demon strength could work, but I doubt he would picked up a kitchen knife nor throw an arm into the freezer.

Though thinking about it, Zelkov may have punched the cabinet, resulting in his broken hand.

If he was then knocked out by the chloroform gas in the air... someone may have removed his arm to undo his transformation.

[plunges]

[ ...Ah. ]

A missed hit, you mean? Or is there another reason why he would have punched the cabinet?

A missed hit, yes. The gas in the air may have broken his focus.

[ A beat. ]

But it did not break the focus of the person he was fighting.

[ And with that, she just turns to face Ibuki head-on. ]

Did you kill Zelkov?

No, I didn't. I may have a resistance to breathing the air outside the colonies, but I'm not immune to drugs and poison.

[ Not for his sake at all, but still the truth. ]

Is that so? I have a hard time believing that, but I appreciate it anyway.

[ This is probably the most genuine smile she gets from him. ]

If I were immune, they wouldn't have prized me as a test subject.

You matter to someone I cherish.

[ Even if that cherishing is in a bit of a weird spot today. ]

And it seems as though we'd have interesting matters to speak about, if the situation were not quite like this.

If so, then whoever it was had considerable strength. Even with a sharpened weapon, it takes a lot of force to get through the bone.

I can tell you one thing about Zelkov's body. His arm wasn't removed with a sword, so we're looking at some other weapon sharp enough and strong enough to be responsible for that.

He was found with a bloody kitchen knife next to him. Wei Wuixan mentioned it's possible that it could have been used with enough force.

Why would he have headed towards the lab? Or whoever he was fighting drove him there? Um, the blood on the rails... have we checked everyone's weapons this time?

We haven't. We only checked pockets and what may have been in them.
