WEEK 5; TRIAL

TRIAL

Three dead, one vote. This might be a pit of a pickle, huh? Perhaps appropriately, the kittybots are serving pickles of all flavors today, along with food that might remind you of your childhood like ants on a log, gummy worm sundaes and adorable toast in sweet and savory profiles. To drink, are their best attempts at replicating the DD refreshers with a whole array of silly straws.

Off to the side in a booth of their own are the bodies as well as attendant kittybots (well two bodies and one arm); simply request which body you'd like to look at and the kitty bots will direct you appropriately, given the number of arms floating around. The kittybots continue to do their best.

(( OOC: Welcome to your third trial! You'll have 7 hours (8PM EST/5PM PST) to vote one (1) person guilty of murder. Since this is scapegoat style, finding the correct killer is not mandatory!

Please remember to vote before then unless you've spoken to a mod, as votes are our stand-in for AC. ))

Would Nona have told Alice to kill her? If she was dying already, received her "farewell party", and had the knowledge that the island wants someone sacrificed to it, would she have offered herself as that sacrifice, to a person willing to fulfill that?

[He wasn't close with either so.]

She wouldn't have wanted to do that! It was her birthday party!

[ crea stomps his foot down, clearly emotional over this. nona wouldn't do something like that, in his head. nona couldn't have sacrificed herself to the island when so many people in it loved her so much. ]

You don't think she would have wanted to take the place of one of her dear friends, who threw her a birthday party, if she knew she would have been unable to survive the week no matter what?

[He wasn't close with Nona, but he can understand self-sacrifice. And even if this wasn't that, it's an angle that shouldn't be ignored.]

She wanted...she wanted to talk to the distortion. To try and see what else it could feed. She said a couple times that she doesn't think that sacrifices are what's really necessary to feed the island.

[ his voice chokes up with emotion, and it takes all his effort to kill it in order to continue talking. ]

I don't think she would have wanted to participate in this, short lifespan or not.

... Did she ever manage it?

It stuck around longer than usual, last week. When she said she wanted to.

Don't see Alice turning her down if that was the case. That girl could be fuckin' brutal.

Would she... have left her in the snow room like that? With the snowman?

That's why I think Beel found Nona. It would have to be someone who cared about her a great deal to bundle her up like that.

She wouldn't have wanted it to go like this. She'd have wanted her body to be intact upon death.

But those are secrets she has shared with me in confidence. I am already betraying her trust by revealing that she knew of her demise, so I'd like to keep her privacy for the rest of it.

Sadly, the dead don't always get their wishes met once they've departed. [Which is awful, but true] I won't press; it was a possibility that needed to be brought up, and if it's not true it can just remain a theory.
