WEEK 5; TRIAL
TRIAL
Three dead, one vote. This might be a pit of a pickle, huh? Perhaps appropriately, the kittybots are serving pickles of all flavors today, along with food that might remind you of your childhood like ants on a log, gummy worm sundaes and adorable toast in sweet and savory profiles. To drink, are their best attempts at replicating the DD refreshers with a whole array of silly straws.
Off to the side in a booth of their own are the bodies as well as attendant kittybots (well two bodies and one arm); simply request which body you'd like to look at and the kitty bots will direct you appropriately, given the number of arms floating around. The kittybots continue to do their best.
(( OOC: Welcome to your third trial! You'll have 7 hours (8PM EST/5PM PST) to vote one (1) person guilty of murder. Since this is scapegoat style, finding the correct killer is not mandatory!
Please remember to vote before then unless you've spoken to a mod, as votes are our stand-in for AC. ))

I was thinking the same thing.

Chuuya, how does your gravity power act when applied to solid ground?

[ In the interest of time, he'll just demonstrate. Red glow, stomps down, huge splintered crater under his foot. ]
no subject
[In the interest of being thorough, about how deep is the crater he makes?]

Yeah? But again, can't make smooth stuff. It's like... [ Gestures. ]
If I'm doin' a crater, it's because I hit something. And when I hit something, it looks splintered and fucked up like that. [ Gestures at the example. ]
Alternately I'd have had to toss somethin' and there'd be actual rubble.

Then... Pardon me for continuing to go about it this way, but... Waltaquin, you are noted as able to send down meteors. Impact craters of scorching objects from space tend to have a smoothness to them.
[ She doesn't know what would have happened to the meteor itself but since it's magic, maybe it'd vanish? ]

I'm afraid you have the wrong person, but I am also happy to demonstrate.
[She looks, for just a second, like she is considering casting this somewhere closer to the crowd...
But then turns and speaks a spell into the back of the sandbar instead.
It's an AOE attack, so there are lots of smaller meteor strikes, and they are not smooth or uniform.]
Haha...See?

That's as good as accusing Chuuya of Alice's murder.

[ She'll just frown at him, but there is no uncertainty here. ]
There are up to four killers among us now. That is the simple truth. Under these circumstances, are you willing to waste our remaining two hours trying to spare everyone's feelings by refusing to get concrete? I'm not.

[They need to start ruling out suspects with a more fine-toothed comb now.]

[ After all, they're fellow Toucans. ]
Otherwise I could do things like accuse you or others of having a gas mask even before entering that lab. You'd need more of a leap than that, I'd think.

We do have someone here with the ability to manipulate gravity. Though Chuuya's profile is incredibly vague, I would imagine changing landscapes with that ability isn't out of the question.

Is the stomping necessary? I can certainly see why that would create such a messy crater.

This is how I've done it since forever. My job ain't to tie things up nice and pretty - I'm supposed to deal damage if I'm sent in anywhere.

There are the trees that were knocked over, too. There weren't any cuts or burns or anything, so... something just hit them really hard, maybe?

[ But. Hm. ]
