Three dead, one vote. This might be a pit of a pickle, huh? Perhaps appropriately, the kittybots are serving pickles of all flavors today, along with food that might remind you of your childhood like ants on a log, gummy worm sundaes and adorable toast in sweet and savory profiles. To drink, are their best attempts at replicating the DD refreshers with a whole array of silly straws.

Off to the side in a booth of their own are the bodies as well as attendant kittybots (well two bodies and one arm); simply request which body you'd like to look at and the kitty bots will direct you appropriately, given the number of arms floating around. The kittybots continue to do their best.

I found quite the mess of destruction on the railway area between Sungem and Dodo isles. First thing I noticed was Alice's veil stuck in a tree and torn up. Only other traces of her were some blood-soaked white scraps that looked like they mighta come from her flouncy frock and enough blood soaked into the earth and splattered on the debris to be deadly. Judging by Athos' new chew toy, that might be all that's left of the lass.

There's a big shallow crater smooth as a baby's bottom with different types of debris scattered about on the edge. Mostly standard rocks and leavs, but I managed to pick up a few trinkets: some dark shiny little pieces of somethin' and what's left of Alice's riding crop. I got it right here for anyone else to take a gander, but looks like there's some tech in it that got busted.

Now I ain't from anywhere that's got gadgets that control animals, but puttin' two and two together from what I know about Alice, girl was probably right fucked the moment somebody smashed this thing.

... Yeah okay so, someone probably smashed it and then left Athos to do their thing.

[ he's not saying that athos ate alice ha ha ha unless??????????? ]

...Yeah, that's probably what happened. Alice said she uses conditioning to make them stay in line. And now that I can compare, Athos's eyes looked lucid.

So the idea is that... Athos ate her?

[ Yikes. ]

It's possible.

But then again someone else would have needed to know that Athos would do that if freed from his conditioning.

Waltaquin did find him with an arm that's probably Alice's. Unless there are more arms unaccounted for than I thought, I can't deny the possibility.

...Yeah, that about tracks. If I had conditionin' not to bite someone and it wore off, that'd be the first thing I did.

Think you're on the money with that one. Alice made a deal with somethin' when she was still a sprog that let her control beasts. Guess she weren't takin' the time to learn how to train 'em the normal way and couldn't defend herself when the old boy came outta a trance feeling peckish.

Debris and dark shiny little pieces... Do any of them happen to be black by any chance? I found something like that in Athos's teeth.

They're on the darker side, yep. Took a free sample.

[ He did see it in person, so maybe that makes identification slightly easier... If he compares the picture of the black debris in Athos's mouth to the one that Billy's carrying, would it be a match? ]

[It could feasibly be a match from what can be seen in the picture!]

I think it's possible for Athos to have bitten this. I can't be completely certain since I didn't try to remove the debris, but it does look similar.

Was the veil very high up? For it to get up there, I can think of only a few methods of transportation.

Added to the crater you found, I think we might not want to label Athos our cause of death so quickly.

Not too high up. I was able to snatch it down easy without climbin' nothing.

But you got a point. Could be that Alice already popped her clogs by the time she was Athos' lunch. Must've been a lucky break for the killer to have just the thing to cover their tracks.

[Imagine framing a dog for murder. Billy might vote for whoever framed the dog on principle.]

That doesn't account for the crop, unless it was damaged only on accident. We also know Athos was able to get his mouth on something resembling those scraps... If it was explosive, the beast would have taken the brunt of it.

Bein' smashed don't give us much to go on with intention. But the crop was under the debris if we're thinkin' about timing.

I know the pooch got a bit banged up. Anythin' indicate by what? You lot are filled with surprises about what mass destruction you can break out.

His hindquarters were also injured but he was too volatile for them to look closer, Ibuki said. [She was on arm duty.]

Were they now? How about that. If Athos mauled Alice on his own, he'd have his mitts covered in pieces of her, wouldn't he?

How bad did he look from what you could tell?

I am wondering if whatever crushed the device as well as her riding crop already killed her along with it and Athos merely ate her remains?

[Nodding a little bit, Waltaquin takes time to consider before answering.]

And if he inflicted his own wounds, we'd see the same.

He was well enough to lunge at me when I approached but able to be subdued by my undead with little fuss. He was quite agitated...I think the hind end was the worst of it, but Ibuki or Crea could tell you better.

Yeah, good point.

I wasn't able to get pictures of his hind legs pre-Crea without setting him off. But I agree the hind end has to be the worst of it, though it did somehow miss his tail.

If we need to, I can say for a fact that the major wounds caused by Kanon actually scarred over. [ he'll pull down his turtleneck (the one he came to the island in) to show a couple of nasty scars. ] I figure this has to do with some of my powers being blocked. So checking Athos wouldn't be totally impossible...

[ it just means they have to subdue a liger. ]

The majority seemed to be around the hind area, yeah. So I wonder if Athos, and thus, maybe Alice, was being pursued?

Heh... And stopped rather abruptly, at that, if they were.

But if they were close together and Alice was incapacitated by something else before Athos took her arm... They couldn't have been close together.
