Good Mourning. Unlike the previous weeks, there's no musical serenade to greet you, just the ambient sounds of the island and the stirrings of those you spent the night with, if you were the type to want company. For those of you on certain islands, the background thrum (and siren laments, for those unlucky) of the warp phenomenon may also have sung you to sleep; but will they sing you to waking? You know how this goes by now, so is anything on this of all mornings really comforting? And is everyone you spent the night with still with you...?

Indeed, the not-so-dulcet tones of the ever-present haze fill the morning; you may not want it accounted for, but here it is nevertheless.

[Hm. A lot smoother than most craters. How does the debris itself look? Is it mostly rocks or are there parts of the rail too?]

[The debris is composed of rock, parts of the rail metal, you name it, we've got it. Well, there's also some dark unidentifiable little pieces that may stand out because they glisten a little in the light.

Also, while he's looking around, he may notice something else larger hiding amid the debris close to the rim of the perhaps-crater.]

[Huh. He's gonna take one of the shiny pieces in case it's needed to compare to somebody.

But with that, now he's going to sweep the debris off the larger object to figure out what this thing is. Gimme your secrets!]

[Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of a riding crop with a rather unique handle. Unfortunately for you, the handle isn't looking too good -- something wrecked it pretty well.]

[butcherspice]

Bingo.

[Billy is going to examine the damage around the riding crop to try and figure out what specifically might have wrecked it.]

[Hard to say what might have done the deed -- it (the handle that is) looks more smashed than anything, revealing some of the inner workings.

... Which probably don't look like any machine Billy's ever seen, but it's easy to tell that it's some kind of tech. Also that it very likely doesn't work anymore.]

[Hmmmmm. Any shiny bits if Billy takes a closer look at the inner workings or somewhere a gemstone might be? Something tells him this breaking had something to do with Alice's ultimate fate.]

[The only really shiny parts are what look like wiring; there don't really seem to be any missing gemstone sockets or anything. Shit's just fucked up, mate.]

[Alright. Busted-looking doohickey we got now.

Anything else to be found rummaging through the debris?]

[That's about it! I should also note that there was some fallen foliage amid the debris in the area closer to where the veil was found, just mixed into all the rocks and stuff. Since there's trees there and all.]

[Good to know! Is there anything a bit further down the rail line beyond where the crater is to note?]

[The rest of this rail line looks all right -- looks like most of the damage was concentrated to this area.]
