WEEK 5 INVESTIGATION
INVESTIGATION
Good Mourning. Unlike the previous weeks, there's no musical serenade to greet you, just the ambient sounds of the island and the stirrings of those you spent the night with, if you were the type to want company. For those of you on certain islands, the background thrum (and siren laments, for those unlucky) of the warp phenomenon may also have sung you to sleep; but will they sing you to waking? You know how this goes by now, so is anything on this of all mornings really comforting? And is everyone you spent the night with still with you...?
Indeed, the not-so-dulcet tones of the ever-present haze fill the morning; you may not want it accounted for, but here it is nevertheless.
(( OOC: Welcome to your final murder investigation, let's get this party started☆ ))

and are they like, exploded? gored open? feathers everywhere? anything else weird? or are they just lying dead on the ground with no immediately apparent cause of death?
here begins the evidence documentation, i guess! and what of the birds' surroundings, anyway? ]
no subject
The birds in question are pheasants. As far as explosions or any other damage evident from glancing at them, nothing stands out from a glance. ]
no subject
it doesn't look like there was any blood or drag trail or anything? they just look like they fell over dead in the middle of the main path?
he'll snap a picture before he does anything, but what does it look like if he takes a closer look, and or turns them over? ]
no subject
Turning them over he'll see that there's some matting to their feathers by their necks, but it's hard to see what's going on here without getting your hands in here due to their beautiful plumage. ]

re: the glass, snap snap, pictures for all. are they clear or colored? looking around, can he pin any noticeably broken windows or paneling or whatever to tell where the shards would have come from? and to make sure i'm understanding right, the glass closer to the entrance is closer together, and the distance each piece has from each other gradually increases the closer we get to the dead birds?
... the entrance to the aviary isn't a glass door, is it? and, actually, while we're at it- would he be able to tell whether the glass shards would have come from something with a relatively uniform thickness (like a window), or if they're potentially from something else (like the crystal jewelry in the shop nearby)? ]
no subject
The entrance to the aviary is solid iron with a swinging wood door father in to prevent the birds from making an escape. In general this area is as open to the air/general climate of the island at it can be, to give the birds a happy life! Or not, considering the pheasants.
So back to the pheasants, looking at them he'll notice that the matted feathers are bloody, though it's a rather clean wound all considered, one thin, long, controlled slit near both pheasant's necks. ]
no subject
there's no other injuries that seem to have broken skin? just the single clean slit on both of their necks despite apparently getting sprayed by a glass explosion? ]
Vergilius is already dead, so what did someone kill the two of you for...?

no subject
if he can't find anything more on the pheasants (is there anything on them that shouldn't be on them, is there anything other than the single injury each) after another good look over, he'll go to where the glass all seems to converge, more or less, and look around. up. down. all around. is there anything to see over here before he starts looking through the entire aviary in earnest. ]
no subject
Nothing else to see on the pheasants but since he's all up in their business he will notice the pheasants look pretty pale.
Looking around the glass coverage up, down, sideways, it all looks peaceful and unremarkable. ]
no subject
so glass all over the floor, birds on top. also if these pheasants went and bled out that much is like. all that blood accounted for, between the matted feathers and the ground under them. or is the ground relatively clean, meaning that someone bled these birds elsewhere? before moving them on over here...
does any of the glass look weird, stray blood on random edges, anything?
uuugghhh fine. source of the glass remains a mystery for now. in that case, time to search in earnest. if he ducks into the nook area with the books and trinkets and everything, does this look relatively undisturbed or nah. ]
no subject
None of the glass has any markings or stray blood.
The area with the books and trinkets is undisturbed! Including any trinkets that contain glass. ]
no subject
otherwise, something had to have downed those birds in the first place, and it apparently wasn't the glass itself. given that they don't look particularly crispy or anything like that he's thinking someone with a good throwing arm is more likely than say, magical or bow and arrow or gun type means. though jury's out on what sword beams qualify as. regardless! it's probably a good idea to start combing the area to see if he can find a weapon, if any was left behind.
and maybe while he's doing that he can keep an eye out for any other weird disturbances too. ]
no subject
Mags can come the area, but he won't find any weapons or take note of anything weird or disturbed. ]
no subject
looks up. is there any damage to the. i'm assuming it's more or less like wire mesh or netting, right, right.
the enclosure is fine, the door is fine, no signs of fowl play or forced entry or breaking and anything, other than the mysterious glass? ]
no subject
Looking up does net you well, netting and it's in good shape. No signs of fowl play or forced entry, or any kind of breaking bad. Just two dead fowls and mysterious glass. ]
