INTRO

Whoever you are, wherever you were, the last thing you remember is the salty smell of the sea breeze and a distinct tickle of electricity across your body. Enough to cause alarm perhaps, but in the next moment it all goes black, or blue to be more precise. When you stir into consciousness, those fuzzy sensations are all that you have as an explanation, though there's certainly more to experience around you.

The warm bright rays of the sun, the rhythmic cresting of the waves into the shore, the unfortunate feeling of sand sticking to you everywhere, because you're lying flat on your back on a beach without a beach towel. At least you're not alone, and at least it doesn't seem like you've been completely dumped unceremoniously, as there's orderly space between you and the 27 others who share your predicament. Whoever left you here probably could have dumped you into a pile, but they have better manners than that.

However you decide to react to your sudden vacation, you'll find that you're dressed just as you last recall and that you have at least one possession of yours on hand. Whatever else you had on you appears to be affected by baggage routing, unfortunately. You'll also find a key inscribed with a particular bird and a strange device in your pocket, ostenstibly some type of cellphone from the period when blackberrys were all the rage. A pop-up window will greet you when you turn on the device, prompting you to pick a username (this pop-up can be ignored for up to 24 hours) and also walking you through a basic tutorial on its functions. For now, it seems like the public network isn't running, but the direct message function is availiable. It ends with a cheerful blurb instructing that "For further questions and help, please contact one of the hotel staff!"

As there's nary a soul that seems to actually work here on the beach proper, it might be worth it to explore. Around the resort are robots manning the buffet, sweeping, and even making cocktails if you want to drink your problems away. While they'll answer to basic commands, provide you with a map of the island, or even be happy to tell you the weather, they're incapable of engaging in any meaningful dialogue. Any questions or demands they can't answer will yield the statement to please contact the administrators.

Whoever they may be, but they'll show their faces eventually. Probably.

[ He's already very slightly demonstrated it, but he wasn't super trying. ]

[When has Lobelia ever said no to a good time? The idea of this man crushing him like that conch beneath his heel is both one that amuses him and makes him shudder.]

The pleasure would be all mine.

[ Lobelia is a freak, the evidence still says strongly. Chuuya isn't gonna kill the guy since he has absolutely no personal stake in it right now, but he rolls his eyes and takes his hands back out of his pockets. Seems like he keeps them there a lot of the time for whatever reason - it's a physical reminder to himself to keep in control, and he'll fight like that when he's not serious.

He's not serious right now, but he does reach out and put a hand on Lobelia's shoulder, pressing down.

It feels normal at first. But the light red haze that lights up Chuuya seems heavy somehow. Gravity is suddenly exerting enough pressure on Lobelia that he's forced to the ground, since...APPARENTLY HE GAVE HIS CONSENT TO THAT??? so I'm assuming Chuuya's allowed, if not just @ me and we can fix this. A lot of the time Chuuya just alters his own gravity in order to fight. He's doing it a bit - his hand is pressing down with more weight than his own slight body and far more than he should be able to, and he won't let up until Lobelia's a) on the ground or b) says something. He just keeps the pressure and weight out of lethal range but doesn't bother to moderate it against potential pain and minor injuries since idk, Lobelia is a freak and it makes Chuuya feel a bit better about the situation in general to take it out on someone for a second. ]

[Unfortunately(?), Lobelia is just as masochistic as he is sadistic. That red haze is certainly alluring, drawing in his attention and holding it hostage up until gravity promptly shifts.

Lobelia lets out a note of surprise, resisting the weight impressed upon him simply to feel how badly his muscles ache when he does, and Chuuya ultimately succeeds in bringing Lobelia to his knees.

After quite literally grounding him, what he finds gazing up at him is Lobelia's enthralled expression. Chuuya really is the gift that keeps on giving, isn't he?]

Heh-ahahaha! Très bien! What marvelous strength you possess! And clearly... you enjoy meting out pain, don't you?

[He's going to be aching in the morning... What a wonderful way to start the day.]

[ Normally people don't thank him for this. He's pretty sure even Dazai wouldn't do that, for all he's an annoying asshole who won't stop Chuuya attacking other people when he's given up control to someone who won't rein him in when he needs to. His grip tightens for a second, but his gloves are still on so he lets go after a second. ]

I'm a little bit pissed off right now. [ He figures a lot of people are, but it's something Chuuya struggles with at times and he knows he can't afford to be.

If he was honest, he'd have to say that exerting control over someone else when he's had it stripped from him balances the emotional scales for him a little, but he's not sure he wants to be that honest ever. ]

You know, people don't usually like that.

[Such anger... Yes, he very much doubts Chuuya has found what makes him truly happy in this life, but who knows? Perhaps it's pounding others into the ground. Perhaps it's grounding them into mincemeat and making a spectacle of it while he does, but Lobelia can only theorize. The opposite may be true, and while that would be unfortunate, not everyone can know the bottomless bliss of living life without a single reservation.

Lobelia steadies himself with a deep inhale, the weight dissipating from his shoulders. He studies Chuuya silently until he's finished speaking, and then he simply laughs, but his amusement isn't coming at Chuuya's expense.]

I'm well aware, but monsieur Chuuya, I don't believe I need to tell you that I'm not like other people. Your anger is a beautiful thing, you know! Quite human and natural. You should feel free to express it however you please.

[ Yeah, he's not sure what to think about this "acceptance". It doesn't feel like it has the same edge as Dazai's amusement, which always came with mockery, so Chuuya isn't sure how to take it. It's kind of more like the boss, but less impersonal. ]

So you like bein' a target just for a close up?

Heheh! Perhaps I do! But I'll tell you one thing: the number of people who have successfully laid a hand on me are few. You should consider yourself privilégié.

[It's not every day he allows someone to demonstrate their powers on him, but what can he say? Chuuya fascinates him, so it was well worth inviting the risk of serious injury to see what this man is about.]
