INTRO

Whoever you are, wherever you were, the last thing you remember is the salty smell of the sea breeze and a distinct tickle of electricity across your body. Enough to cause alarm perhaps, but in the next moment it all goes black, or blue to be more precise. When you stir into consciousness, those fuzzy sensations are all that you have as an explanation, though there's certainly more to experience around you.

The warm bright rays of the sun, the rhythmic cresting of the waves into the shore, the unfortunate feeling of sand sticking to you everywhere, because you're lying flat on your back on a beach without a beach towel. At least you're not alone, and at least it doesn't seem like you've been completely dumped unceremoniously, as there's orderly space between you and the 27 others who share your predicament. Whoever left you here probably could have dumped you into a pile, but they have better manners than that.

However you decide to react to your sudden vacation, you'll find that you're dressed just as you last recall and that you have at least one possession of yours on hand. Whatever else you had on you appears to be affected by baggage routing, unfortunately. You'll also find a key inscribed with a particular bird and a strange device in your pocket, ostenstibly some type of cellphone from the period when blackberrys were all the rage. A pop-up window will greet you when you turn on the device, prompting you to pick a username (this pop-up can be ignored for up to 24 hours) and also walking you through a basic tutorial on its functions. For now, it seems like the public network isn't running, but the direct message function is availiable. It ends with a cheerful blurb instructing that "For further questions and help, please contact one of the hotel staff!"

As there's nary a soul that seems to actually work here on the beach proper, it might be worth it to explore. Around the resort are robots manning the buffet, sweeping, and even making cocktails if you want to drink your problems away. While they'll answer to basic commands, provide you with a map of the island, or even be happy to tell you the weather, they're incapable of engaging in any meaningful dialogue. Any questions or demands they can't answer will yield the statement to please contact the administrators.

Whoever they may be, but they'll show their faces eventually. Probably.

Watching our captors make examples of themselves would make for a fine spectacle... but it's as you say: lâches rarely lead by example.

I'm assumin' that's an insult, so I'll just agree. [ Gratuitous French he doesn't speak... ] Though I guess at least hidin' when you pull people with powers in to try to manipulate ain't the dumbest move. Besides the part where you started out dumb.

Those who wish to get away with murder often do make themselves scarce. How else would you go on killing if those that would seek revenge can easily reach you? Our captors may be cowards, but they aren't fools.

Ah... So you intend to take the battle to them?

[Those destructive impulses of Chuuya's are lovely to behold... but there's always the chance their captors will see that as a reason enough to drag him up onto the chopping block.]

I admire your tenacity, Chuuya! You may make an enemy of them yet. Should the opportunity arise to make a proper show of their destruction, I hope you welcome an audience.

[ Currently his opinion is "this is dumb" and "if I had a clear shot at them I'd take it", but hey. He's mostly just kind of listening with annoyance and earmarking them for hunting down at a later date, after he's out of the current situation.

The whole audience to destruction thing just reminds him strongly of Dazai, who has been known to let Chuuya rampage past a safety margin just because he liked watching. So he rolls his eyes. ]

Watch whatever the hell you want, I'm not your keeper. It ain't like you aren't thinking about something dreadful too.

[Chuuya's observation garners a laugh— he's certainly not wrong. There's little need to cause a scene when that scene is guaranteed to unfold around them, is there? Not with fascinating men like Chuuya around... supposing he can get to their captors.]

Oh? You don't intend to extend a formal invite to me? That's a shame... but I don't mind showing up uninvited. Just be certain you exact your revenge where I can see it unfold.

[ "Moi"...he knows that one, so he sort of puzzles out the meaning of the rest from context, a little bit. As to his methods: might be crude? He typically uses his own body as a weapon and just smashes people until they stop moving. For all he looks tiny, the part where he can control gravity means he can hit really hard. ]
