WEEK 4 INVESTIGATION
INVESTIGATION
Did you enjoy your musical serenade last week? Depending on where you find yourself this bright and sunny morning, you might be getting an encore of a different sort, in the theater.
Are you having the time of your life? Someone is, or more accurately, was if the trend from the last weeks hold. There's not even any extraneous noise to interrupt the musical marathon; the snap and pressure release of past weeks is notably absent, so maybe it's not the time to continue the party scene yet... Those on Dodo will be able to spot the warping haze stretched past the aquarium and almost to the theater by the time they make it outside, while those on Sungem and Seagull will also be able to spot the phenomenon encroaching on the shore from the ocean. Hm.
"Anybody could be that guy ♫" (( OOC: Welcome to your third investigation, stay hydrated and refreshed ☆ ))

We'll have to take a few steps back here, to note that the picture linked in the death post is not entirely accurate. The metal embedded in Kallamar is of two different colors: the gold is on his left side, concentrated around where he's also missing a hand, while his right side is more intact but riddled with normal-looking metal.]
no subject
So to clarify: the gold shards are centered in his (partially missing) arm? Or are they in that whole side? Does the metal look like gold-the-metal, or like gold-painted-metal?]
no subject
The gold shards -- which you'd probably have to poke at a bit to check what type of gold -- are indeed centered on the arm and stump, in a radial pattern. Moreover, now that Baizhu is looking closely at the stump, he'll notice that there are a number of stab wounds on it as well.]
no subject
Are you calling Baizhu an animal then, since she's basically his doctor? The wound that caused the severing, was it one blow or part of the multiple stabbings? Like a slash versus many stabs, clean edged versus jagged?
He'll feel or move the stump around to check that if needed, and poke at the gold too-- are the gold pieces chipped off of the blade(?) that did the stabbing?]
no subject
All humans are but slightly taller animals. As for the wound that took off the hand, it's hard to tell because the wound is so messy -- there's the deep stab wounds, to the point where some of the gold bits have been pushed deeper into the flesh, and the severed stump itself is pretty ragged. Especially as the whole thing is waterlogged too.
For the gold: it's gold the metal, and the gold pieces are too small to tell where they might have come from.]
no subject
Do the shards seem curly or straight? Like metal shavings, or more like slivers/shards? Are the non-gold ones the same, just a different metal to the gold ones?
Are there any other wounds besides the arm?]
no subject
Also I should note that the stabs to the stump/arm numbered about five, so like, a really good amount for one arm.
Boy are there plenty of wounds! They're on the other side, though, the right side with the gray-colored metal. These are slightly larger and also go in a radial pattern on his head and upper body. The flesh here is also shredded and stabbed, somebody went to town on this squid. There's also more stab wounds all down the body, too.]

There's a decent area of disturbed sand which is also kind of glittery due to some sundry glass shards lying there. That's not the only thing that glitters, though! If Alice is looking around the beach, she'll also spot something shiny down by the water.]
no subject
Let's actually start with the shiny down by the water. If she needs to dig anything up she'll do it, but what're we looking at, here? ]

And as for the metal, what color are they? I assume they're too small to be reliably places as to their origin, but just in case, could she tell where it's from? ]
no subject
The bits of metal are a mix between gray and gold, and are too small to be able to tell the origin. If she's eyeballing them real hard, though, she might also notice some black scraps buried in the sand with them.]
no subject
Fun! Would she be able to tell if its all the same metal painted differently?
Otherwise, she'll move back and go to the disturbed sand. How's it disturbed? Where are the glass shards in relation to it? ]
no subject
They're a bit small, but since it came up in Baizhu's thread they're different metals.
The messed up sand connects to the drag marks and mostly just looks like there was a lot happening in this area, with dips and pockmarks and whatnot. Most of the glass is near all of this too. There's also small patches of darker sand just visible here and there.]

That said, there's also the matter of the long wooden object that was floating in the water not far from Kallamar. Shall we assume he would have retrieved that, or is he going to need to go back in?]
no subject
It's fine, he needs the exercise anyway, etc.]
no subject
The mysterious object turns out to be a long, wooden stick, so not anything too hard to bring back in.]

Anything else of note about it or can he go look for a towel now?]
