Did you enjoy your musical serenade last week? Depending on where you find yourself this bright and sunny morning, you might be getting an encore of a different sort, in the theater.

Are you having the time of your life? Someone is, or more accurately, was if the trend from the last weeks hold. There's not even any extraneous noise to interrupt the musical marathon; the snap and pressure release of past weeks is notably absent, so maybe it's not the time to continue the party scene yet... Those on Dodo will be able to spot the warping haze stretched past the aquarium and almost to the theater by the time they make it outside, while those on Sungem and Seagull will also be able to spot the phenomenon encroaching on the shore from the ocean. Hm.

[Shuda wakes up on the beach, where his attempt at a patrol of the island was aborted by the spontaneous nap. Well, there are less comfortable places this could have happened, so there is always that...

Anything weird going on here?]

... may notice there's a bit more sand on him than you'd expect just from keeling over on the beach. Also, he may want to be careful because there are stray glass shards around here, for some reason???

On top of all that, does he make a habit of staring into the ocean upon waking up?]

He may not make a habit of staring into the ocean, but upon finding those shards he is absolutely going to be taking a good look around at everything in the immediate vicinity, which includes the ocean.]

[There's something dark and glittery floating out in the waves, almost disguised by the sun on the water and the shimmer of the haze still slowly reaching out to the beach.

But it's definitely out there.]

[TIME FOR A SWIM, THEN. Good thing fire is weak to water and not sea

Paddling out to the mysterious floating object...]

[As Shuda makes his way out into the ocean, the object will come better into view, bobbing low on the waterline; it's certainly waterlogged, a bizarre shape that almost looks like a very big clump of stray seaweed lazily heading out with the tide.

But the closer he gets, the easier it is to see that the initial glitter was the sun reflecting off something real rather than a trick of the light and the ocean and the haze; a metallic sheen seems to coat part of the thing, dyeing a portion of it a burnished gold from moment to moment as it floats.

Finally, he'll likely have to reach out and lift up this odd little lump -- but it's a good thing it's light, if a bit slimy and rather green, and not from seasickness. Multiple strange arms flop about heavily, no longer able to grasp safety or anything else.
