hearnoplague: I don't have any good reaction images for him, have this trophy of Kallamar's crown. (Default)

Ritual of Destruction

[ So, Kallamar was going to just burn the conques Lobelia left behind in the Seagull cabana, but apparently that's a bad idea.

So instead, he just brought them all in a drawstring backpack and invited people to do as they wished with them. Happy destroying! ]

(OOC Note: The shells will release whatever sound was stored in them upon destruction. Have fun with that. )

[It’s such a sad rarity that anyone asks Skywarp for his opinion, though it should be valued highly.]

For you. Am I right?
idologue: (100 serious)

[ A nod. ]

You're correct. But that in itself is what Lobelia wanted from me. If I were to sing for his sake alone, I imagine I'd have failed him.

So it ends up for him all the same.

[He chuckles.]

He did have peculiar tastes, didn’t he?
idologue: (060 serious; sad)

That's... a very generous way of putting it.

[ But then, maybe Skywarp's idea of disturbing is far removed from the usual, too. ]

But I think I can understand what he saw in Vergilius. And I hope Vergilius saw the same in him.
skyworp: (I got rigor mortis)

[personal profile] skyworp 2023-06-04 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[For his opinions on that, Skywarp makes a ‘hmmm’, tilting his head in a manner resembling a bird. Then, he asks a question.]

Do you envy them?
idologue: (073 smile)

[personal profile] idologue 2023-06-04 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, no. I really don't.

[ It's an extremely sad way to be in love. Her own 'soulmate' and her are not without complication and pain, but Lobelia and Vergilius make them seem quite normative. ]

Do you?
skyworp: (HALT it's not my fault)

[personal profile] skyworp 2023-06-04 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
In a way.

[Having the question turned back on him, he supposes he does.]

There is something beautiful about completion, don’t you think?
idologue: (060 serious; sad)

[personal profile] idologue 2023-06-04 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She has to mull that one over for a second. ]

... yes, I suppose there is.

[ Meeting the person who completes you, fitting into each other like two halves of a whole. That can be beautiful. Coming to an end of your choosing, a grand finale you've set up for yourself? Lobelia would have considered it beautiful. Lacus can't. ]

But beautiful things can be tragic, and even painful.
skyworp: (Take it with a pillar of salt)

[personal profile] skyworp 2023-06-05 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
For who? Not him.

[Despite how gruesome his end was, Lobelia seemed to welcome it well enough. Though, perhaps there’s something he missed.]

Does it matter otherwise?
idologue: (035 serious; sad; worry)

... to come to the conclusion that you can never achieve happiness except in death is certainly an answer to find, but...

[ Yeah, she's not convinced this isn't tragic for Lobelia as well, even if he hasn't fully realized it. ]

You're right that he did not want differently for himself, but as his friend I wanted better.
