hearnoplague: I don't have any good reaction images for him, have this trophy of Kallamar's crown. (Default)

Ritual of Destruction

[ So, Kallamar was going to just burn the conques Lobelia left behind in the Seagull cabana, but apparently that's a bad idea.

So instead, he just brought them all in a drawstring backpack and invited people to do as they wished with them. Happy destroying! ]

(OOC Note: The shells will release whatever sound was stored in them upon destruction. Have fun with that. )

[While Temenos spends very little time at this gathering, he does briefly appear to see if he can find a particular person.]

Billy. May I have a word?

[He may as well give the man the option after what went down earlier. If now isn't the right time, then he'll seek Billy out later.]

[Temenos gets a suspicious lowering of the eyebrows in response to the question.]

What for? Y’made your stances clear already, didn’t ya?

[He lightly tosses the shell currently in his hand like he’s considering where to pitch it.]

[He wouldn't even try to block it if Billy decided he was a perfect target right about now.]

I did, and it was a selfish stance. You had every right to be angry- Vergilius was your friend, and I stood between you and his killer in order to, quite frankly, make matters worse.

[Because everything that unfolded after was a fucking nightmare. Lobelia may have deserved to speak his truth, but was it really worth it in the end?]

For that, I owe you my deepest apology.

You sure did. Who knows, maybe the nutter woulda gotten a quicker death at my hands instead of goin' through a thousand of 'em if you hadn't picked then to start caring about what rights murderers do and don't have, eh? How's that feel, Father?

[A humorless smirk stands on his face for a moment, as if waiting to strike.

It falters a bit at getting a genuine apology, though.]

...are y'now? Must be a bit of a twist for you to be the bloke needin' forgiveness.

[Ouch. Temenos's expression tightens at the criticism, but he knows it's well-deserved so he takes it all without opposition.

But once his apology is out there, he manages a rueful smile of his own and shakes his head at Billy's response.]

It happens more often than you might think. Clerics aren't infallible- in fact, I daresay we are more prone to flaws than anyone else.

[...]

Nevertheless, this is a regret that I intend to carry with me and reflect upon.

Don't I know it. Holy men where I'm from get up to some of the worst shite anyone can be capable of. Wonder how they think their man upstairs is givin' 'em the green light.

[There's contempt in his voice.]

Fuckin' peachy, have fun gazin' at your navel. Won't put Verg or the psychopath back together.

[...for some strange reason, this loosens Temenos's nerves more than expected.]

My. I didn't expect you to pull any punches, but I'll certainly feel these in the morning.

[Assuming he sleeps at all, of course.]

No, no it won't. And I would never claim otherwise. I don't intend to stew in it, though. What their loss boils down to for us is that we have another week to work toward a way out of this.

No one's ever come to their mate Billy to let 'em down easy.

[Good though. He should feel bad, Billy thinks.]

Got any plans on that "gettin' out of here" front? Bird shitheads aside, this place ain't exactly a quick boat ride away from home. Think whatever dragged us here works in reverse?
