WEEK 3; TRIAL
TRIAL
Like last week, the kitty bots herd everyone over to the sandbar once the time for investigation has concluded. At the least, this little piece of your personal hells has emerged unscathed in all the wreckage. Unlike last week, Overhaul and Shigaraki are already there waiting for you, the former looking about as grouchy as a mask can get and the latter looking pretty amused.
Off to the side in a booth of its own is the body as well as attendant kittybots; apparently it’s messy enough this time to require some clearance, but it’s still close enough for the admins to oversee.
This murder sure was something, even for your masterminds. Theorize and/or judge about who could have done such a thing and get a snack from your local kitty bots if you get hungry—the theme is italian today, with pizza, mozzarella sticks, stuffed meatballs and the like. (( OOC: Welcome to your second trial! You'll have 7 hours (8PM EST/5PM PST) to find the killer and send them off their death, if you believe in justice at least. Since this is scapegoat style, finding the correct killer is not mandatory!
Please remember to vote before then unless you've spoken to a mod, as votes are our stand-in for AC. ))

And all he does is close his eyes and sigh.
As he suspected. He's unsatisfied.]

Are you not satisfied with the truth? This is the result of Vergilius' soif de sang. He knew well one of us would leave with our life intact while the other would have to wait to burn in enfer, but he won't be left waiting long!
Tell me, Temenos, what part of this has left you so unsatisfied?

What happened, exactly? I want to hear how it played out.

[Before going on a spiel about how this was an Act Of Loveâ„¢, he'll give Temenos what he wants: the facts.]
I had awoken to find myself free from the barrier and knew that it was time to treat Vergilius to the death I promised him. He knew I was coming, you see, but he didn't know when. The least I could do was keep the man who'd given me so much in suspens of his final moments.
[...He'll go on to describe how he cornered Vergilius in the laundry room, how the two of them fought what was, as Lacus suspected earlier, a "consensual duel". The broken roof? Vergilius plowed straight through it. The cut up washing machines? Vergie. The crumpled ones suffered at the hands of his audiomancy, and as it turns out, those big powerful old man legs are sure good and creating massive craters in the ground.
Their fight spanned the island and resulted in a lot of property damage as a result, but as it goes with old men, they can only afford to lose so much blood before crapping out. Vergilius's EGO gave out shortly before his body did, leaving trails of blood in their wake, and Lobelia carved the heart from his chest as he lay dying on the asphalt.
Ah. And the go kart was just for funsies. Lobelia had to give everyone a nice present to unwrap, didn't he?]
...And there it is, Père: the truth you so desperately sought.

Before all hell breaks loose, he mutters:]
I see. What a shame.
[Whatever comes next, Temenos only has himself to blame for circling this flame for so long.]
