Execution

Come Sunday morning, another announcement rings out through the island, though you probably have a better idea what it's about, and of the person speaking on the other end. According to your administrators, two sacrifices per week are required, and that time has come.

Unlike earlier, the kitty bots won't force anyone to go, but they will cheerfully inform all island goers that the execution is starting soon and they shouldn't miss out! The sandbar has also reappeared, a fitting enough stage for condemning a life as well as taking one. Both your administrators are present, along with two figures directly in the middle of the amphitheater.

(( OOC: Executions are voluntary except for the executed and executioner. The path back to the island will also remain for the entirety of the execution, so characters may leave whenever they wish as well.))

[ One of those present is Sonya of course, in the clothes he arrived in, fit for a cold, desolate winter and not at all a summer vacation. The black and white scarf he's kept tucked around his belt now looped around his neck. He also, perhaps ironically, has the harpoon from trial, though it rests easy in his hand and not in any sort of combat position.

He regards his executioner with a tip of his head. ]

Hmm for this...we should do it properly, no? Sonya of the Yurodiviye, reporting. [ The small smile on his lips along with his voice is cool as always, despite the circumstance. ]

[ Kallamar is present in the peanut gallery, getting a front row seat for once.

Or, well, front row standing room. He puts his hood up the moment he found his place and watches the proceedings in silence...

... While trying to ignore the kittybot offering him popcorn. ]

[No thanks on the popcorn; Shuda is here because he wants to see just what their "friends" consider to be suitable entertainment.

Why else would they make this a public spectacle, after all?]

[ crea is here in the peanut gallery, looking mildly troubled as he waits for it to start.

he raises an eyebrow at the kittybots bringing popcorn, holding back a grimace. ]

Maybe I’m not one to talk, but do we really have no sanctity for life in this place?

[Skywarp is perched somewhat uncomfortably, trying his best to find balance at this time. That doesn’t appear to bother him in the least, though, as he’s watching the proceedings with utmost glee.]

Ah yes. This is going to be good.

[Temenos is present, here to see this case through to its close. He's watching in silence, arms crossed and with that ever-present placid smile on his face.

He has a strong feeling this won't be the last execution he'll spectate.]

[ And then he gets rudely interrupted by a kittybot. Popcorn? Popcorn! ]

Ugh, off with you, mechanical pest!

[ He attempts to shoo the kittybot away to little avail. ]

[ and the other is xiao, her clothes unchanged from the beginning and her hands weaponless. there's a moment where her gaze regards sonya's harpoon, a force of habit, but they settle on his face quickly enough. for his manners, he gets a nod... like this is a simple exchange of greetings, and not what it is.

looks like she doesn't need to do the dramatic name calling she always does, but her response is a simple: ]

Xiao. [ that's all! ] It appears in the end we are simply two residents of the City, Sonya of the Yurodiviye.

[ what a farce this is. slowly, the temperature around her rises. ]

[Though his tone and words betray it, he's definitely disgusted.]

[ Psyche changed back into the gown she arrived in for this, probably the closest thing she has to remotely respectful funeral wear. The catbots with the popcorn get a brief glance before the administrators get a much chillier look. ]

[ Wei Wuxian is here, but he’s not eating any of the popcorn. Instead, he has his arms crossed as he watches the execution unfold. He raises his eyebrows when he sees who the other figure down there is. ]

[ Lacus knows she didn't need to come here, but closing her eyes to the reality of what their votes amount to would be worse. She's composed, though her expression is sorrowful. She won't take her eyes off the execution for even a moment. ]

Guess it doesn’t really matter who’s the second sacrifice, so long as there is one.

[ Xiao's expression is even. He doesn't particularly want to be here, but given that the judgment that has been passed onto Sonya, he feels like he must.

His eyes widen slightly when he realizes that the other Xiao is also here, ready to take Sonya's life. ]

[ Moravia's around. She doesn't refuse the popcorn when offered, but she seems more intent on watching than idly eating this time. ]
