Congratulations, you've won the lottery this fine execution day!

Though, perhaps it really isn't an execution day, given the kittybots don't seem to be rousing people to go to the sandbar yet again -- but you're given no peace, because four of you will be beset by an absolutely infernal beeping noise. It would be familiar, if anyone but Zelkov and Haruka had heard it before, but no one has.

And now you're the proud successors of auditory cue hell: the insistent noise will lead you all the way to Kingfisher's Retreat, pointing you towards the waterfall side of the island. As you get closer to the crystal pool, you may start noticing disturbed sand and dirt, foliage... Almost like something large and not particularly delicate crashed its way through the growth and the footpaths, shoving everything out of its way...

Hmm. Surely there's nothing amiss here! But you may want to make sure you have your weapons on hand and your eyes and ears peeled.

[Temenos is the first to arrive on the scene, staff in hand. He holds his free hand to his chin as he surveys the damage.]

Now what could have happened here...?

[ For a while, Ibuki tries to ignore the beeping, even quietly stealing a pillow from Chuuya in an attempt to muffle the noise. No dice.

Eventually he does make it to the waterfall, looking rather unimpressed. ]

Looks like we're going to have to find out if we want to sleep in.

Something tells me it wasn't just someone having a good time.

[He'll move to step forward towards the path of damage, one arm held up to indicate to the others that they should stay back for the moment. He doesn't particularly like not having his sword on hand, but his Dark Bring should be more than enough to handle anything they might run into... he hopes.

Does it sound like whatever caused this destruction is still anywhere in the vicinity?]

Did Skywarp make a mess here as well? I do wonder if it really was such a good idea to give him his new leg.

[ Shaking his head. Things never seem to get dull around here. He's going to keep close to one of the white haired ones because yall look squishy compared to Shuda. ]

Ah, seems as though I was far from the last person to receive a lovely siren song.

[He's glad for the backup, though. He has no idea what to expect from all of this. Lead on, Shuda!]

[It's quiet... perhaps unnaturally quiet given all the signs of disturbance, but it's also possible that the beeping noise is interfering with your ability to process your surroundings -- moreover, the closer you get to the waterfall, the louder the beeping seems to get. Yikes.

By the time everyone's near the pool, they'll be able to see that chunks of the pretty crystals have been broken off, the remaining ones are also cracked in a clear trail that connects to all the mess they came from... there's a pretty large boulder lying right under the waterfall, too, interrupting the flow of water.

Looks like that's the source of the beeping. Approach?]

Lovely is one way to put it. Hopefully it's an easier fix than expected.

[ Let's leave the tank position to the most qualified! He'll follow behind everyone, keeping an eye behind them for any sudden appearances. ]

[He sure will, because he is the designated tank today! Hopefully there's nothing in the water that's going to try to eat him, since he's going to try to wade closer to that boulder to see if he can get a better look at whatever it is that's beeping in there.]

Wonder if this is some kind of genre change. [ Is that you r2d2? Are they now in a sci-fi? Time to follow to investigate. ]

I could think of lovelier sounds I'd rather hear.

[ Well, that's fascinating. He'll walk closer, still behind Shuda, but enough to get a better look. ]

Hmm, did you want me to move the boulder? Destroying it would give us more space to work with, but it sure is suspicious.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could, Ibuki. I don't think we'll be rid of this incessant noise otherwise.

Might be better than using my Dark Bring. If whatever caused this mess is still around, that'd get its attention in a hurry.

[ He points towards the rock, carefully adjusting the strength of his psychokinesis to levitate the boulder as quietly as possible. It takes longer than he'd like to move it as soundlessly as he can, which he visibly is less happy about. Not that he'll complain out loud. ]

Let's see... Do stay here for now.

[ And time for the softest landing he can manage.

...So there isn't like bats out of nowhere or anything? Right? ]

How close do you have to be to do it? [ His only concern is the moment it's moved, it'll unleash a bunch of spiderbots or something dangerous. Normally if there's a giant rock you have to move, there's something behind it. ]</small?

I can be farther, no problem.

[ Yeah, he gets what you mean. So totally assuming he does step back farther before he moves it, and is nice enough to leave enough time for others to do so. ]

[Nope, no bats! And it looks like the beeping is actually quieting down too, until it comes to a stop -- there's some kind of garbled noise from behind the waterfall that sounds suspiciously like it should have been an announcement, so unfortunately everything isn't completely peaceful with the rock moving, but it was probably better than exploding it??

That said, with the moving of the boulder, they'll also be able to catch a glimpse behind the waterfall itself -- there's a hole cut in the back, through the rock and into what looks like a lab...

Perhaps this boulder rested there as a door of sorts, once upon a time.]
