!!!

[Thursday, and the usual unhappy hush hangs over the islands, muffling the sounds of the exponentially increased numbers of birds, the revelries in the new relaxation hangouts and likely the relaxation effects themselves; but though the pall lingers throughout the day, little happens until sometime into the night.

Perhaps it's because you offered a bit more for the island to chew on last week?

Whatever the case, the first stars are out and the moon glows above the horizon by the time a familiar low noise and atmospheric lightening makes itself known -- something like a dull roar that vibrates through bone, too unsettling to be the murmur of waves. The aviary has been even quieter than usual, but there's sudden a burst of cacophony as all the birds seem to cry out at once before it falls silent again -- it's ever more noticeable here with them all in one place, but they've been surprisingly hard to find for anyone who's visited.

Anyone on Kingfisher's Retreat who remembers to look up will see the familiar shimmer spreading across the sky by the waterfall, two long tendrils like the spreading of wings. It's thick and substantial enough to interrupt the fall of the waterfall at this point, creating an incredibly strange sight where the water seems to be riding on the warping, and some of the noise appears to be the sound of parts of the cliffs coming down or actually being flung a fair ways into the sea. Hope you're really watching your head there.

Meanwhile, those back on Sungem's Peak will spot the shimmer there too; this one is quieter in comparison, almost a tiptoeing bump in the night compared to the spectacle going on at Kingfisher island. A little veil of distorted moonlight spreads out across the waves down by the beach. Maybe it's not a night for skinnydipping.]

[OOC: The usual! Feel free to respond for a quick answer if your character is doing anything with/at the distortion, or ask in mod questions if needed.]
